If any of you still does not believe that there's such a thing called Unconditional Love, then watch this touching video feed and I am sure you will disagree and agree with me.
I must apologize that this video feed is in Chinese and for the benefit of the English majority I will do a short narration of this odd union of a couple Mr Li Jiang Hua and Mdm Tam Li Er of Hunan province, China.
In 1994, Mdm Tam Li Er lost her husband at the age 28 through a bout of illness which left her with a 7 year old son, 5 year old daughter and an aged mother in law. Suddenly she became the sole bread winner of the family, however life is just cruel and half a year later she met with an accident leaving her half paralyzed from waist down.
Still Mdm Tam did not give up and resorted to doing odd job at the nearby train station. It was during this time she met an odd laborer at the train station - Mr Li Jiang Hua,48 who had undergone 2 failed marriage and took compassion of Mdm Tam's plight. He was moved by her resilience and determination to survive.
Initially, Mdm Tam refused to accept Mr Li's help and quietly returned to her village residence. Yet, Mr Li did not give her up and through extensive enquiry managed to seek Mdm Tam's village residence.
To Mr Li, he had already set up his mind to take care of Mdm Tam and did not mind about her handicap and heavy responsibility. So after moving in, for more than a decade, he would wake up 3 a.m. in the morning to turn up for work at the train station and give away his whole daily salary (from RMB 15 to RMB 100) to the family.
If you think that it is simple, then do consider otherwise because he took care of the household chores like washing his handicapped partner's soiled garments, farming and gardening. From a tattered old farmhouse, he managed to raise the family and rebuild the house into a decent small maisonette. Mind you, the both of them did not get married all that while.
But, life took another fate when Mr Li was stricken a heart condition which could not let him work, requiring him to undergo surgery costing RMB 200,00 and extensive treatment. Despite his condition, Mdm Tam did not give up on him and decided to marry him to make him her legal husband.
Though he had a family with step children already independent, he just could not continue to work and contribute to this family of his. Not wanting to be a burden to this family, he made a bold and unthinkable move of leaving Mdm Tam and return to his village to spend the rest of his life in recluse.
Selfless indeed! I am just full of admiration for this simple man and his undying love. I feel that there's some valuable lessons to be drawn here.

so this is a true story?
amazing story. love can move mountains, as it is said. i was branded a 'hero' by my husbands relative when i married him despite the physically challenged condition. he was paralyzed, left body down when he was stricken by stroke. yes, i married him despite his condition and his consistent advises to me to find another man. i did not consent and decided to marry him. i became a hero to his family and relatives. but i was despised by my parents and siblings for my decision. probably because i was the breadwinner of the family.
but i just couldn't live someone who had given me importance, who had made me whole and loved me for what i am. life was not easy for us but we managed. our children did not fail us and are continually becoming our source of pride.

bingskee,
Yes, this is a true story.
I am really speechless and full of admiration for your account which is quite similar to this story I have posted. I can see how challenging it has been for you and I am glad that your efforts have not been in vain.
The only difference is here is that Mr Li did not have his immediate siblings negativity and/or objection because he was already staying on his own and alone. However, he did faced obstacles from his opposite partner who is his wife now, her children, her mother in law and her immediate neighbors since cheaters are very rampant in China. All the neighbors were really unable to accept that he had any good intention and/or sincere but I have to admire the undying faith and sincerity which proved to the world otherwise.
So like Mr Li, you are really an exceptional individual which has my full admiration and respect.

Not everyone knows how to give unconditional love, so those would be the naysayers, but I have it for my family and friends, especially my children and grandchildren.

nanajanet,
Rightly said.
I believe you will agree with me that Mr Li is really an exceptional gentleman with his background who excels well and above the well educated and learned men of today, in the area of selflessness and the true meaning of unconditional love.
His intervention at the our of need and walk out at the hour of being others' burden is really something beyond any culture or tradition. I just wish that there will be more men like him.

Love does exist in the world, and only those who live their life by heart can really know what love is.
