So by the time that her ovary is ready to have a baby then how ready is her whole body by that time. I think that she'll have a baby when she reach 40, becasue they always say that life begins at 40. Lol.

There might be something wrong with her hormone production... They should seek help on medical experts...

I think you should advise your friend to go to a specialist doctor who treats this kind of gynecological problem. It is very unusual that at age 28, the reproductive organ is not yet fully developed. In some instances, the onset can be delayed but not that very late. Her case is a special one that can be a very good subject for further studies.
It is natural that she can't bear a child because the organ that would facilitate the process of conception is not yet ready. Maybe the doctor can suggest on what to do next. I'm sure there is a solution to her problem. It's a pity that nothing can be done when the problem is already known. She better go to another doctor for a second opinion. Good luck to her.

I guess is what they call absent menstruation or amenorrhea. It is better to seek a different opinion from another doctor. I have some friends who have the same problem. And one of the things the doctor told them to do is to take the birth control pills, this will then give them the menstrual flow. But its side effects is gaining more weight, which obviously I am seeing their photos now and they became fat now. The other one is already married but still not having any kids. So I still don't suggest your friend to take that pill since they are wishing to have a baby.

I have heard of people getting their menstrual late, but 28 is very late! I have heard of people taking birth control to jump start it.I would get a 2nd opinion. It sounds like something may be wrong.

Personally I have never heard of this happening into this late, and sounds like the future of them being able to have any kids is a scarce one. I would think their Best bet would be to consider adopting. I know that is usually quite expensive but sounds like the Best alternative out there.

Hi Svjomboy,
Well, 28 is kind of old even for a late bloomer. I read through and see that she has sought the help of other doctors and all say the same thing. Could it be more neurological? I had a friend who did not get periods until quite late. And then they stopped after a few of them. She had suffered some abuse as a child and they concluded that a lot of her problem was from the mental trauma.

Is she underweight or does she suffer from an eating disorder? These things put a stop to menstruation. She should also look into a disease called Polycystical Ovarian Syndrome. I have it and it messes with a lot of people's menstrual cycles. She should start on birth control and see if anything happens.

I think that usually happen when the person is too thin, I'm not that sure though. Did the doctor gave her some medicine to take? It's very alarming that she is already twenty eight but still does not have her period. I hope she gets it soon, or she will have a hard time to have a baby.

It may be a case of primary amenorrhoea. So please ask her to consult with a reputed gynaecologist immediately.

That abit sad for me. At 28years without menstruation it signals something serious that need a better followup. I would advise her to go for a second opinion. Other conditions like thyroid problem, stress can cause the problem. It better if they are all ruled out. Late menses is also a risk factor for cancer like ovarian.

That a very rare case. I know how they feel regarding having a baby. It's definitely not possible without her menstruating. It maybe hard for the husband but it's hardest for the wife since she's the one responsible in bearing a child. They could seek expert advice and go to a specialist if incase they haven't tried it yet.
