How long before an engagement?

I don't think there is a standard when to get engaged as long as the guy knees down and offer you a ring, if you love him and will want him for a husband, then grb and sieze the opportunity before he changes his mind!

i think there is no standard time of getting an engagement or proposing to the person you love. when you feel you are ready to commit and be with the person for the rest of yur life, then why don't you say and be engaged with the person?

I don't believe in any such thing. Everyone is different and every relationship is different. I do not believe in standardizing things like that. It's wrong. I got engaged after two years and stayed engaged for another two years. A friend of mine was in a happy relationship for over 19 years and never got married.
