Cigarette Smoking - Turn on or Turn Off

So I was at this restaurant with my friends. While waiting for our orders, I was looking for some vitamins for the eyes and indeed I found one. He was good to look at - neat, well groomed, nice build n etc. But when he passed by our table, he stinks of cigarette smoke then eventually I lost interest at him. I can tolerate guys who drink alcohol but cigarette smoking is a "no-no."
I actually don't understand why people smoke. They say it's cool. But actually it turns me off. How about you guys? Do you think cigarette smoking is a turn on or turn off?

High 5! It is a major turn off. I'm not saying that I hate the person because he smokes. I just hate the act of smoking. I pity himself, his lungs and the other who inhales the smoke. :(

High 5 again jjzone44! Hahahhah! They always have a choice not to smoke and if they are already smoking then they also have a choice to stop. Very true indeed. In everything we do, we are always given choices. It's either we become wise and choose what's right for us or we become foolish and blinded by the wrong choice we made.

I don't smoke, but I wouldn't say that smokers turn me off. I have had boyfriends who smoked and it wasn't a big problem for me. I don't find it attractive or cool and it doesn't turn me on, but I can accept it. Some of my friends who don't smoke wouldn't be interested in a relationship with a man who smokes, but personally I can live with it if I really like the person. My partner's personality is more important to me than his choice about smoking and I don't want to reject a person "just" because he smokes.

You have a point. I am not saying that I am immediately closing the doors for a person who smokes. Personality does matter but if he truly cares, then he should stop smoking. He should take care of himself so he would be able to take care of you.

I have never understood why people smoke either, I think young people thinks it makes them look cool but to me now that people know what it does to your health, I look at them and think they are crazy and thats not even thinking about the wasted money...

Well lila as what I have read on other posts, they said they do it out of curiosity. This curiosity actually killed the cat and made them addicted to it. I agree that it is a waste of money. After all, it is not a need. It is just a want. ^_^
Good to know telmesh that you've awaken to your senses and stopped smoking. Give yourself a pat and tell yourself, "You did well. Good job!" ^_^

I have no opinion on it. It's not attractive or unattractive to me. That might have something to do with the fact that I myself smoke and most of the people I know do as well.

I think most of us think that the smell is the major turn off of people who smoke. I can't tolerate the smell and it can affect not just me but also other people's health.

Total TURN OFF! I don't like guys who smoke and I can't even stand the smell of it. We girls might get attracted to how we see guys physically but it's always the attitude that they are bringing to the table that matters, and smoking and other vices are included in that category.
Happy MyLotting and God bless!

The smell again. I agree with you. Most of us does, as what other Mylotters said. It's true that we see guys in an ABC order. A for Appearance, B as in Behavior and C for Character. When B and C is not good even if A is super B, then it is a major turn off.
Thank you! Happy Mylotting and GOD BLESS you too. ^_^

Its a big No-No-No for me, its a turn off for me, i really don't like to a guy who is into smoke, My ex was into smoke before but during our time i told myself that he need to quit to the smoking habit, after how many months i'm glad that he did, and i succeed. I don't know why they want to smoke its bad for their health not just for the smoker but also to the one who smell or near with them.

I think it started with curiosity then evolved to addiction. I know some people who can't get enough of it. I'm glad you succeeded. The guy must have fallen head over heels for you that he quit smoking because of you. That's good news. ^_^

Not really, my hubby smokes and when i met him he smokes but what is good is that he does not stink lol.. i guess because he is not really a heavy smoker.. but like how you described that guy, i also do not like that kind of guy. There are guys who smoke and the smell stays..

Really? Probably you got used to his smell that's why you haven't notice it. I'm not sure though. I hope your hubby stops smoking so that his health would not be affected even more. Thus, since he will be able to take care of his health, he would also be able to take care of you and that you would be together even longer. ^_^

Kissing ashtray. Good one! It gave me a good laugh.
I can't imagine myself doing that either. I hope those smokers thought about that too. No matter how hot he is or whatever, if he smokes then he's like an ashtray and I don't kiss ashtray... ^_^

I'm not really a smoker and no plans of turning into one. I have quite a number of friends who smokes but none of them are habitual/chain smokers but when we're all together, I always request them to stay far away from me especially when smoking since I can't stand the smell of smoke. It irritates me.
As for your question, smoking is a turn off

I am glad that you are not a smoker my friend. Same here. I don't smoke and I hate the smell of smoke. I also get irritated when I smell one. From a far, I can easily detect or smell smoke and it pisses me off.
Seconded! It is indeed a turn off -_-

I don't get turned on or off, whatever, to those guys who smoke. There was a time when I was in college, that I told a suitor that I don't like someone who smokes coz I can smell him. So he stopped. But anyway I dumped him not because of that. It's because he had graduated college while I just entered college those times. My dad and brother smokes too but I don't smell them stinking. Maybe when a guy smokes so much then the smell will really stick to them until they take bath. What I don't like with it is the effect of it on our health, even us who don't smoke might be affected. I hate the smell.

Why would it be cool if it can ruin your health? I don't like guys (or in my case, girls) who smoke. Just by seeing their yellowish teeth and almost black lips make me cringe. Not to mention their smell. It stays with them for hours or days even! It's totally a turn off for me if I see someone smoking. It's just a sign that they don't care much about their body. If they do not know how to take care of their own body, then how the hell can they take care of me?

I agree with you. It is not cool for someone who smokes and destroy their own body. Likewise, if they can't take care of their own selves, how much more others? I really hate the smell of smoke with all honesty. I don't hate the person though. I just hate the act. -_-

I guess it's too bad for all people who smoke regardless of age. But the affect of smoke to us second hand smokers is worse. It's better to stay away from them. PEACE! -_-

I guess, you should stay away from those people as much as possible. It can trigger your asthma attack. I pretty sure you know those things more than I do. I hope you are doing well now. Take care and GOD BLESS you cher ^_^

I actually thought you were talking about real vitamins at first. That was cute. I always felt that seeing someone smoke is a major big turnoff. It really grosses me out. I just automatically think about what their lungs must look like. Then I realize how much they stink of the smoke smell which really repulses me. Don't get me wrong, when I was young and dating guys I dated a few that smoked. Of course the relationships didn't last long. Couldn't stand kissing an ashtray.

I personally prefer not with someone who doesn't smoking. In my house its only my brother who smoking and he had to do it outside the house, because my sister allergic with the smoke and she can not inhale the because she will sneezing all the time.
What I can no understand is all his stuff also smell like smoke. I had few friend who samoking and all the boys always smell like that's but few cover it with perfume sometimes its smell so strong.

i also think why guys are wasting money by smoking, in the packet itself it is printed that it is injurious to health, knowing why they are going for that. youngsters are thinking as it is a status in the college to shine before ladies. they don't think about the health and it becomes an addiction to them. my pray to the youngsters is "for a second's pleasure don't invite disease and stop the bad habit".

Vitamin for the eye..hahaha! LOL! Fromo your description, he realy seems to be a nice looking guy but unfortunately I am also turned off whenever I know that a guy smoke. Smoking does not only affect those who smoke but it has a general effect on second hand smokers. That's the main reason why I don't like guys who smoke.

Yes! He was indeed vitamins for the eyes. He was supposed to be a good catch if he had not smoke. Appearance wise he is good but Behavior and Character, *eeeekkk* epic fail because he smokes. If they don't think of themselves and want to die slowly through smoking then they should not involve other people. Let them die alone. Don't bring us. :P
