I had always been a fan of street foods those sold along side streets. Those that are fried exotic foods like fried boiled eggs with cornstarch, chicken intestine, barbecue, fried blood, liver and so forth. everywhere I turn before I go home, I pass by this mobile stalls and most of the time I resist the urge but at some the urge is too much. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to avoid this detrimental instrument of fatness food. any?

Self discipline is the only key and only way to avoid the urge and cravings. I also crave for those foods esp when I smelled the aroma (duh) But,I tell myself...not now, maybe next time..and then again, the next time I saw or passed one...tell myself the same lines...not now, maybe next time. Now,I can control myself and avoid the cravings.

My husband and I are also big fans of fish balls, fried eggs, liver, etc. We o out of our house once a week to eat these exotic foods. You can indulge once in a while. Try limiting your budget to the yummy street food, like spend only 20 pesos every Friday. Discipline is the key.

I agree wanting fast food is tempting. Discpiline is the answer but so hard to accomplish! I let myself have a treat once a week. I save all my change through the week and that is what I have to spend on treats on the weekend. That helped me. Sometimes I take the change add a little money and go to the store and get the items to make something yummy and fattening at home. Like fully loaded nachos-we eat that while watching football on Sunday. Good luck in your quest!

I also like those dirty street foods. But after I have some intestine infection like parasite and don't know where I got those from. I then try to avoid those street foods. I thought maybe I got it from there. Now when I see one on the street I just ignore them.

Hey hatley, in my country those eeekie stuff are even viands for some people at times. It's really not for everybody but for me I love it but lately Ive been avoiding it since it packs a lot of cholesterol. Anyway for the fried boiled egg. Just boil any regular egg in a deep skillet or pan in medium heat then wait till you think it is already hard inside. Usually it takes about 12-15 minutes under boiling water but anyway you'll know really if it is hard if you carefully pick it up be careful it's hot and try to shake it and there is no liquid sounding kind of thing inside. Then get a new deep pan or skillet put in it plenty enough to submerge the egg. And cornstarch with 1/4 cup of water on a deep plate and roll the boiled egg ( off course peel it first). Then when it is all covered up with cornstarch fry it just so that it is not burnt. and voila fried boiled eggs. Color is of your choosing you can get any food coloring that you can mix with the soaked cornstarch, Color doesnt really add anythng special to the taste but it looks more yummier if it has color. Thanks hatley.

my favorite street food is siomai. i consider it my number one appetizer but i don't eat it everyday because it has lots of fat in it and i know its not good for my heart. i only give in to my craving when all i can think of is the taste and smell of siomai. i can eat only four pieces of siomais with lots of rice and glasses of very cold water!

I think the mostgood way is just to add vegetables or anything healthy to the side or replace it with something else.

is an fried egg bad food or liver or chicken instestines? What exactly is the bad thing about it? The way it is prepared or? I think if we talk about bad food it's mostly fast food and the kind of food you buy ready at the supermarket with a lot of ... and ... added to it. If you are doing it because of the fatness I think there is a very good reason why you are eating it. I think your body needs it.
