I have been suffering colds for more than a month now. I don't really know the reasons but most probably because of the weather. It rains, then very hot again. My body cannot adopt the sudden changed of temperature. I think because of the dust too. This might be allergic rhinitis. I hate this because it bothers me a lot. I have a very clear runny nose everyday especially in the morning. My nose becomes so stuffy that i can't breathe well. I almost give up taking up medicine because it's still the same..Do you know some extra strength medicine for allergy or for colds???

Actually I have seen and heard of a couple of people who are like this around here too. They seem to almost shake their cold then a week or two later they are back coughing again. But lately it is people I know getting really sick with a cold and feeling miserable and even loosing their voice for a couple of days. I honestly think due to the difference in climate change, etc. there is a nasty virus going around this yr. and just hoping it will stay away from me.

Yes, I agree, the weather is really bad these days- very unpredictable and can cause people to get sick. Since it is either extremely hot or raining so much and the road is very dusty too. You should try allerta- for allergies and just neozep for the cold- or go see a doctor for better advice.

I will tell you something that really works that is not medication at all, but will help to clean up your sinuses and will help you get better faster. A Neti Pot. This one is particular is really good http://www.epinions.com/review/water-pik-waterpik-swn-460-sinusense-neti-bottle-includes-60-soothing-saline-packs-with-aloe-vera-and-eucalyptus-blue/content_568522411652 because it comes with saline packets. It is not a fun thing to do but it will actually help you to drain your sinuses and clean them out. It will actually help you to get better rather than just masking your symptoms with medication. I am also a big fan of Nyquil, it helps you to sleep and helps keep sinuses from dripping down in to the throat causing more bacteria in the ear nose and throat. Hope you feel better soon.

I have had a cold for several weeks now too. I think it is also some allergies as well. I use Alka Seltzer Cold Plus and drink it in warm water. It really helps me sleep and so I get better. I also use Sudafed for clearing my head and runny nose. It is the season for this sort of thing. Ugh!

I think you better try drinking tea with honey and lemon or a hot water and put some lemon and honey.

The best you can do is to have yourself vaccinated with flu vaccine. It should come with the ability to combat common colds. I also experience colds from time to time but it normally goes away after a week or two but wont take this long. Have yourself checked.

Whether it's a cold or allergy, you're immune system is haywire. Build it up by making sure you get enough rest/sleep, do some exercises, drink plenty of water and take Vitamin C if you don't eat enough raw fruits and vegetables. Drink echinacea tea every day for a few weeks, too. Your situation is a sign of a run down body which needs help.

For some reason this sounds more like an allergy to me. If you can't get over an allergic reaction it will turn into a cold and you can be sick from that cold for 6 weeks. Then it starts again.
I don't know what kind of medication you are taking now?
There are common anti-histamine mostly for running noses, watering eyes, sneezing and feeling itchy.
There are others like: prednisone, cefaral, beta-methasone etc which are stronger. If you never tried them you could see if it works for you by using them 1 week or so. 1-2 a day (depends on how much you need)
