MYLOT What?

As others have said, a "lot" is a word meaning a 'plot of land' or 'a collection of objects'. In auctions you hear the words "Lot number xxx" used to describe the item or collection of items which are being sold. The words 'vacant lot' or 'parking lot' are used, especially in the US, to mean a plot of land or an open space. MyLot can therefore be taken to mean "a place which I can make my own little corner in" or something like that. The REAL story of the name, however, is that the domain was originally created for a site which sold gardening tools and equipment (a 'lot' can also be used to mean a garden). Whether Waseringtech owned that site or whether they bought the domain because it was available and a catchy name which sort of described the discussion site they wanted to set up, I don't know, but those are the facts of the case!

I'm am kind of curious on how myLot developed its name and letter capitalization. But what I'm even more interested in is seeing the process the developers took to create this site. They had a one of a kind idea that became very successful and is now home to over two hundred thousand users from a lot of various regions! Its so cool that their idea became prominent in the discussions earnings field!

Hi phillyguy My-Lot where there is Lots of Me, about me and about My Self The My Family too goes with it. Never thought about this though as I never felt the need. It is like who thinks when you own a thing or have something so close to you

Hi phillyguy, when GAA was Alice, she gave an explanation of myLot. Lot is defined as a place or property. So, myLot = my place, my community. I will look for that discussion and give the link if I find it. Or mysdiana might have it handy. I lost all my bookmarks when my computer crashed - multiple times it got fried.

oh! i just feel the same way..i really want to know whats behind mylot...Why did they come up with this name..well mylot sounds great.The first time i heard about, i thought of LOT i mean the place where we live..

Hi... I always had this thought hover over my mind. But never gave it deep consideration. L is capital because it begins a new syllable in the name. I really don't know what myLot means... But I would like to know???

Someone can suggest, But i be sure that mylot site management can explain why they chose that name. I am curiously need to knew.

hi philly my theroy is that they wanted a site where ]eopoe wou ld feel they belonged like this Is my lot, or in other words my comfort place to come whenever I feel stressed or lonely, angry or upset.My comfort place that I sure with others. only my theory of course.

I think L is capitalized because its referring Lot and its my Lot means my Lots of moments, friends, experiences, time are here.... just i think. ADMN is better to ahve an answer.

I have never really given it a thought though until you started a discussion about it. Some members here have given different meanings of it in which I agree were all correct in their interpretation. It's really catchy and for me it means everything that we thought of.Unique title on its own way making others to give it a thought and register to find out what it really means.

Lot is just a name. Lot's name belongs to me (My) out you. So, MyLot is ours. MyLot is a name, site name of our own.

This is a brilliant Question, actually I am browsing for discussion and I hit the button HOT, and my eyes was attracted to your post, I have no idea and never thought of why the site was name myLot and the big "L". All I know is I participate with the discussion and responses, I hope we all find the answer though.

Yes I am! What exactly is the reason why the letter "L" is in capital. Why not other letter or at least the first letter?I'll follow this discussion to see what other myLotters think.

I wasn't curious until now because I gave my own meaning to mylot, for me it means my place, my private and serenity place,and when my husband tells me "are you in yourlot?" is like reafirming that mylot is my lot, my place, my unique place where I can work and do good things for my friends like helping to have solutions to their discussions. The real meaning I don't know but I don't care a lot about that,because I know that mylot is "mylot"

I think MYLOT means that more people or big population. It's like a big community.Lot is capitalized maybe for focusing purposes. I'm not that sure.

Really i dont know anything about mylot...my only understanding is that we can earn money through mylot...............and also we can improve our knowledge.........
