EDSA is going to be changed to Aquino Avenue?

I do not agree on this bill issue to change the name from EDSA to Cory Aquino Avenue or to any other upcoming changes for names be under a Political Identity. I have heard that news that the possibility to happen when changing the name would be totally as you said would be for me very disgusting. Imagine if those public vehicles like Buses would change their route names to from "EDSA IBABAW or EDSA ILALIM" be changed to their future proposal name to " CORY IBABAW or CORY ILALIM" what do you think other and green minded people will think? Funny but true. Are they making this country " FUNNY" or for their own ancestral dominion? The question is " how many people lives will benefit from this? NONE AT ALL.. The Vice President who made MAKATI well established under his terms, did not took this advantage of putting any philippine public property under his name.Example is Ospital ng Makati, but never they made it under a distinct name rather made it under the Municipal Name because he is aware that it was made out from the Taxes of their municipality. Those political identities who give material on this issue are those who are not worth to be in their positions. They must concentrate on many important issues that will resolve poverty, poor education system, unemployment, inflation rates, crimes and even other less fortunate districts who need major services like roads, schools, hospitals and income generated business in order for them to have a capable environment.Thus, it will be also a negative credit if you will see many drivers having rally along "Cory Aquino EDSA" to be voicing out their pains in TRANSPORT HIKE". This is taking advantage of the Philippine History during EDSA TIMES, Too much for that relativity, because, after EDSA terms, what happened in our country, did every each Filipino got their Credit? none, who benefited those credit much? Look at NAIA, the comments of the international people are said to be " THE WORST AIRPORT", who are the stockholders in it? the DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL AIRPORT? THE DIOSDADO MACAPAGAL AVENUE? who are those living in this beautiful places causing great traffic and much expensive leisures? are those less fortunate people who needing housing programs and a relocation for home? only those tycoons who can afford but none even those less fortunate people benefiting . Even the crimes ? did any had proper justice been served in every head of a Filipino? Maybe if you are influential, maybe well JUSTICE SERVED even violating other humane rights. This bill for me is a waste of time, much worth Instead they used that time making a BILL that has better incentives on different important issues that will benefit really each and every citizen. I will not be surprise if someday, there will be a new MOA from Mall of ASiA to MALL OF AQUINO or PNP from Philippine National Police to PHILIPPINE NINOY POLICE or even, NCR from National Capital region to NINOY CAPITAL REGION... I just hope they will realize that a SINGLE BILL mistake can definitely put the Filipino at stake.. Great time...

if ever this would really happen in the near future, then there's is also a great possibility that REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES would also change to REPUBLIC OF AQUINO.

It is quite clear that there are a lot of people in the senate who has nothing else to do. I think this bill should not even be given attention. No disrespect to Cory Aquino since I do admire her. I think if she was alive today she would also not agree. There are so many issues happening in our country today and changing the name of the road would not in any way help solve the problems of our country.

This is an ensane move by the people who are behind this idea. They will try to change the history that this road have created to the Philippino People. Hope they will not change this road because it is a symbolic road for the Filipinos

no I dont want its name to be changed because its name has been a part of the history and changing the history may give confusion to the new generation...

they shouldn't change EDSA, it became edsa for a reason, and it has meanings, so if they change it to Aquino ave. the Edsa memory will hardly remember, anyway when you said EDSA the Aquino's name is already there with their memories and what they fought for... those who think that is insane!

I agree with you. The revolutions are remmebered today as Edsa 1 & 2 because they were held in the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue. If a somebody from outside our country would ask us what Edsa means, we won't be able to answer them properly since it will not be called edsa anymore.

Will there be difference if they change the name, what benefits Filipinos will get??? Will it change the quality of life Filipinos have right now??? Will it educate the illiterate??? Will they give employment to the unemployed??? Why not focus on more important things like poverty, education, health,graft & corruption, etc. etc??? There's a lot of problem our country is facing right now, why waste time on this non sense bill??? Have you ever had careful study on these beforehand??? Please....
