Which foods do you really dislike?

We often talk about the foods we like here on MyLot but what about those we don't like? I don't like onion - because it makes me ill when I eat it. The problem is that it is a common ingredient with a lot of dishes so I have to be really careful and mostly do my own scratch cooking. However, I used to like eating onion before it made me ill. The one food I've never liked is coconut. Fortunately that's fairly easy to avoid - although I have been caught out a few times when someone has given me a biscuit or cookie and it had coconut in and I didn't realise. You should see the faces I pull! I can't explain it, it just makes me cringe and want to spit it all over the place. What about you, is there a food you don't like?

I hate onion because it hates me. When I say intolerance I mean that I can't eat it because it makes me physically ill - I react to it in a way that looks like I have bad food poisoning. I can be ill for 36-48 hours and it isn't fun.

Surprisingly, I am not a fan of bacon. I know a lot of people who love bacon, but I don't. I don't like any kind of bacon. It's something about bacon that it just doesn't agree with me. Bacon is one food that I don't like.

I pretty much like and will eat anything except hominy. I grew up loving corn and can't understand why it is messed up so badly by making it into hominy.

The foods that I dislike are: sweet potatoes, squash, lamb chops, Tai food, too much icing on things, greasy foods, salt, and radishes. Can't really think of any others. I try to eat alittle of things I know are good for me even if I don't really like them. Squash has a were consistancy and it makes me gag.

hi hvedra I dislike tongue, beef hearts and liver, yuck. Also I dislike parsnips as they taste like over sweetened turnips which I adore. I dislike roast pork as the taste makes me gag, and chicken drumsticks that are not thoroughly cooked,if there is pink in the meat it makes me sick to my stomach. I love onions and garlic. I dislike anything flavored with almond extract. I love almonds and most nuts but the almond extract has not the faintest resemblance to the real almond nuts.I love dark chocolate but milk chocolate also makes me ill, too sweet and not enough real chocolate taste. I really dislike cow parts while I love roast beef. the brains, the stomach, liver, tongue turn my stomach. guess I am a picky eater but I love all veggties except parsnips.

I hate peppers, offal, celery, mustard, horseradish, artificial cream, all salad dressings/flavourings, blue cheese, Bombay mix, ginger, sour fruit, pickles/chutneys, liquorice, aniseed and quite a few other things. I hate any kind of fat or gristle on any meat or in any meat product, recipe or dish.

There are only a few foods that I find that I don't like. I don't like mushroom for sure, I never have them on pizza. I think maybe the only time that I will eat mushrooms is if it is really small pieces and like in a soup. Then I will eat it. Another type of food that I will not eat is okra. My grandma told me when I was younger I used to love eating okra and rice and she'd feed it to me all the time I came to her house. But as I got older I really didn't like the taste. I don't know why its just that it hasn't gotten really slimey and my mom says maybe the okra that you are eating, people just don't know how to cook it right. She maybe right, but I don't think I'll ever want to eat another okra again. I think also now just recently I'm not liking avacado. I used to love it all the time and I'd eat it with just about anything. But now even the smell of ovacado I hate it and just won't eat it any more. I don't know I think the smell is getting to me. And I'm like I'll never eat it again.

I know a few people who won't eat mushrooms. I know one who even gags if he sees or smells one and he says to him it smells rotten - I think he probably has some kind of allergy or sensitivity. I've only had okra a few times in Indian restaurants and it was okay. I think if you have something and it is bad or even you ate it and got sick afterward because it was off or something you ate with it was off, your body associates the smell and taste with something that will make you ill.

Hi hvedra: I have to say that I don't like fish. I don't know why because my parents love eating fish. It's probably because of the smell. I just don't like how fish smells and how it looks. My parents understand this so they don't prepare fish for me and I do my best not to eat it anywhere. ALVARO

I really dislike organs that some people will eat, like liver or kidneys. I love to swirl around in all kind of dishes to give them a try but I really can not eat something like chickenlivers backed with onions and mushrooms on toast, or a Irish stew filled with organ meat. I have tried snales with garlicbutter, not my favorite, but done it once. I have tried caviar, salty nothing. I have tried oasters, do not like the salty see inside my mouth. I have tried it all, but organ meats stay away from my plate!

Mayonnaise, because it makes me nauseous. Even when I was kid I couldn't tolerate it. My mother would make carrot-raisin salad, and I would refuse to eat it, and of course I'd get punished. Later, when I was an adult, I told my mother, and she was surprised. Some fast food, for whatever reason, will make me ill. I know years ago I couldn't eat anything from Wendy's, so I'd wind up getting the baked potato and salad, lol, because I couldn't eat their hamburgers or their chili.

Good day. I hate garlic. So does my mother. Here in our country, we use garlic as a kind of ingredient to make dishes taste better. But for me, that's a disaster. I could smell it as soon as as I enter the dining room. So we don't eat garlic at home. But as I am staying in college most of the time, cooks here really like to use garlics. So each time before meals, I have to pick out the garlics in the dishes. I just can't understand why people could bear the weird smell and flavor of it. I wish I could have a kitchen here in college so that I don't have to eat dishes with garlics.

I don't like bitter gourd. I know it has several health benefits and is good for the body, however I really can not stand the bitter taste.
