This noon, son was heating up some of the left overs turkey, green bean casserole, and mac n cheese.in the microwave. I said we need to get it eaten up today or make else of it or freeze it. he said im working on it. He had to put it in twice to heat it. said, "geesh, it just dont seem to heat up easily!" I said, "Well they say if your frige is full it stays colder longer and dont even run as much" He looked at me in surprise and said"wow, it just gets better and better for the rich, dont it!!" thats just one of the many ways people that dont need money saves money. plus the bank deals of not charging you if you have lots in the bank.what do you say about it? btw, anyone know where hardworkinggurl has gotten to? i miss her. also other then soup, whats more ways for turkey leftovers?

Well, I never heard that the more that is in the fridge the colder it stays. But, I like what he said about the rich. That's correct, the more you have, the more breaks you get. And banks do give the rich whatever they want. Come to think of it, I have not seen Hrdworkingguurl either. As far as what to make with turkey leftovers, well, all I can come up with is turkey salad. I am not a turkey fan.

I think I remember hearing that about her. You're probably right, that is probably why she's not been here.

hi bunnybon hope you missed me a little bit as well. LOL I just try to play catch up now with the notifications in mylot and with other stuff piling up here online for quite a while. No idea about recipes to liven up turkey leftovers, I guess I would freeze bigger chunks and then warm them up and serve with potatoes and veggies. Reminds me of when I was a kid my mother made a roast for Sunday and the remaining roast then was eaten on Monday.

In my house the best way to get rid of leftovers is to give it to all the other family members so we aren't eating the same thing for up to 4 days in a row. I sent most of it home with my sister and mom no way me and hubs could handle all that food ourselves. But I like to make a turkey sandwich salad or turkey and dumplings. and there is tons of other things..turkey pot pie..casseroles. My husband doesn't like that sorta stuff so doesn't do me good t even try to make them

That observation from your son gave me a laugh this crisp, sunny morning. Leftovers? Turkey? I've never made soup from them I just heat enough meat for a meal in some gravy and have it with mashed potato & veggies or on a sandwich. I love turkey so it either goes all at once or I make it last.

Turkey salad sandwiches, cut it up add other stuff to make tacos or burritos. Replace the meats you would have put in anything else and add turkey instead. I dont understand why people make too much then have left over turkey for weeks after.

Hmm, my favorite thing to do with leftover turkey is to feed it to the animals. Seriously though, I really don't like turkey and I've never made my own Thanksgiving dinner because my mother-in-law insists on making it so the leftover turkey has never been something that I've had to deal with. As far as being right about the food staying colder longer when the fridge is full, that is something that is absolutely correct. In fact, it is always a good idea to keep jugs of water in your fridge to insulate it if you don't have it full of food.

Turkey casserole, turkey ala king. I am not sure where HWG is, she did not respond to my last e mail. She is looking for work and has some health things happening. I keep my refrigerator pretty full, but you do need to have some air flow around it. Your freezer is the one you need to keep really full.

The wealthy don't need money because most of them watch the small expenses. We on the bottom or in the middle tend to think well, it doesn't cost that much so I'll indulge..then are surprised when the money runs out before the next paycheck. I use turkey for soup, sandwiches, stew, turkey and dumplings. I boil the bones for stock to treat the dogs' dinner and make the soup and such. Every bit of meat and skin goes into the stock pot and the tiny bits I missed picking off are easy to separate and put into the soup/dumplings or whatever. I freeze a lot of it, too, so it lasts for a month or so. I like making turkey pot pie also.

you know, that is one way a lot of rich people have it. they save in any way they can. when i worked for them they even taught this little penny pincher a few things. today the last of the turkey is going in soup. i forgot how well 4 people can work through one as compaired to my last years 2

Men are just weird aren't they? THey don't have the patience or intellect to do such things. Hardworkinggurl is probably working. Hehe I make these killer turkey sandwichs. Delicious wheat honey bread with light mayonaise and then slice the turkey sorta thick but you put cranberry gelled and cream cheese on it too. It is delicious!

I miss her too. I haven't seen or heard from her. I like turkey pot pies and turkey casserole with the leftovers. I eat so much turkey during Thanksgiving that I don't usually have that stuff throughout the year...so I enjoy it pretty good. There really are a ton of ways that the rich get richer aren't there?

I use the meat for sandwiches and only the bones for soup. I don't know what else to do with it unless I use some of it for cat food (and I might since my brother asked me to bring Deceptikitty over and feed her since he went out of town last night and he couldn't catch her to bring her before he left. Thinking about this made me hungry and I just put a plate with turkey, potatoes, stuffing and sweet potatoes into the microwave to reheat. If you think of anything else I can do with it, let me know. Have a great weekend!!!
