dolphin slaughtering in Taiji

I have recently watched a documentary film. The title was cited as 'The Cove'. The film shows off tons of pictures of dolphin exploitation in Taiji, Japan. In Taiji, there were several hundreds of dolphin killed every single day which was entirely up to the purposes of money and there are 30.000 thousand killed every year. Taiji is the largest place of slaughtering dolphin in the world. Shockingly to hear their confession that their hunting habit got nothing to with the money but had to do with the stories of Japan. Out of my respect, the reason of hunting the dolphin was lie. There was a question arisen in mind. What was your first reaction to see the film ? Do you think if we could end dolphin or whale in the entire world ? Give your best response. Thank You and Have a Nice Weekend. Good Day

Stories of Japan? Sounds like a bad tradition of mass slaughtering of innocent animals for me. If I were be able to watch this video, I will walk out, I am never used to watching gruesome programs featuring pitiful slaughtered creatures. And no, we can't end the Dolphin or Whale species in the world as there will be activists to support them.

Killing is not tradition, it is humiliation. What sort of people are they who like killing other creature like dolphin. Dolphin is helper on the ocean. There are a lot of stories about dolphin save human being on the ocean.

I can see why people got angry at the Japanese for killing dolphins. It's not money that's the reason - it's for a living. The people down in Taiji have lived off dolphins and whales for their whole history, and it's almost like a part of their culture. They even use all of the whale, not part of it - I think that's what they call "Mottainai". If you ask me, the Sea Shepherds are getting in the way of the Japanese. In my opinion, they should also make a movie of cows being slaughtered, because I see no difference between killing cows and killing dolphins - it's human nature, we kill other mammals to survive.

Yes, Japanese admitted it. In an international debate, there was an argument among speakers. Slaughtering dolphin and whales is part of their culture. They killed them for consumption reason as same the western killed cows for the same reason as well.In that case, killing dolphin is different from killing cow or buffalo. Dolphin is endangered species and if we are not stopped, they are extincted by hunters. We don't cultivate them, we cultivate cows. So, in my opinion, there is no reason for killing this non human intelligence animal whatever.

We watched the documentary for a subject back in college. A few of my classmates were already in tears because of the massive killing of dolphins in Taiji. We could not believe the things people will do for money and their government won't do anything about it because dolphin hunting brings money for the town. I commend the guys and gals who made the documentary possible. It is a brave thing to do, so that people will be aware. I could vaguely remember their leader walking into the Whale convention thing with a monitor on his chest that shows the slaughtering of dolphins in Taiji. I do hope that people with the power to make things right will move soon.

We have to be thankful for their brave mission. If I am not mistaken, his name is Ric. He is the leader of the dolphin protection who run a TV serial program "Flipper" in the United States. We hoped we would never see dolphin slaughtering anymore. Thanks to them once again. Bravo.

yes, it really cruel, many of dolphins are slaughtering in Taiji, they are trapped in a gulf in Taiji, hundreds of dolphin were trapped in the gulf there everyday. i think it should stooped immediately, dont make the population of dolphins become fewer. The hunters hunt the dolphins just for the meats, and many of research that dolphin meat has not any speciality, i think they should change their tradition like that. it will distract dolphins to the extinction, and i also hear in Japan, many hunters also hunt whale. IT SHOULD BE STOPPEd.

They have to be stopped, otherwise, our next generation won't the dolphin anymore. I heard that the government gave the dolphin meat free to children as a part of school program. They admitted that the dolphin meat contain high level of mercury which it leads them to trouble. The dolphin is in the top position of food chain where the standard mercury is found higher twenty time from International mercury standard. So, you can imagine, it is not only hunting which killed our lovely dolphin but the progress of industry have give bad contribution to this beautiful creatures. By eating them, they also harm themselves.

why would people kill dolphins? they don't do any harm and they are so cute, i couldn't bear to harm them to any degree. those people who hunt them should be caught and put in prison! They are murderers, dolphins are as much a living creature as humans. to be hunted down, it would be terrifying. they should think what it's like to be living as a dolphin and being killed like one, see if they like it.

They ate, sell, stock and sent away to somewhere. Japanese people don't even know about the hunting and there is no movement against them, because their hunting and slaughtering were backed up and the media covered it. It seemed that fighting against hunting or harming dolphin will continue or never end.
