Hi there,
When I was still a kid, I remember my mother, aunts and grandmothers were using spices they themselves prepared for cooking. Gradually mixed spices came in the market and we shifted slowly to them. Actually, I buy mixed spices for almost all types of dish. It does help me and my wife a lot but I must admit I do not always get the same great taste as when I was a kid.
So friends, I just wanted to know whether you prepare your own spice mix or do you buy ready mixed spices? Do you find a difference between them?

I tend to do both. I'll buy a few basics and then mix together what I think I will need as I go along with my cooking. I make my own taco seasonings, poultry seasonings, pumpkin pie spices and apple pie spices and whatever spice mix I want to use on meats. I've found instructions for the various mixes on the internet. Mixing them together sure beats having to buy them.
