hi luckygal and romymjrose! welcome to mylot
yeah we definitely earn by participating in discussions, actually that is what this site is all about. Just make sure that when you participate in discussions you are contributing something related to the topic and be as descriptive as possible in your post. Good luck to both of you I hope you have learn a lot from all this responses that romymjrose's discussion received.

Yeah, your right. Actually, your responses teach me a lot. Not just you but all of the respondents. One more Phillyguy, if you don't mind. If we post or created a new discussion, do we really have to mark which among the responses is supposed to be the best? If that's the case, what if you are not satisfied with the existing responses? How long should each discussion stay unsolved?

Try to read each comment in this discussion... I am learning from their comments.. I just do hope that this would not be a violation for this site to talk about it.

just a friendly advice, short comments like "thank you", "I agree", "good answer", "thanks for responding", "that's right" and other short phrases like that will not increase our earnings here in mylot. As much as possible try to add something related to the topic. Good luck to both of you have fun mylotting

Yes, yes and yes. We get paid for:
1. Starting a discussion
2. Responding to a discussion.
3. Commenting on responses to discussion.
Use myLot, post discussions, respond to discussions, comment on discussions, or perform searches. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#14
It is our participation that is rewarded here. I don't start discussion everyday, but still earn something everyday.
Like PPE, I am confused. Where did you get the ideathat you only get paid for starting a discussion?

Well that is just an assumption...
By the way, what is PPE?

PPE is Please Post to Earn meaning if we want to earn more we should be very active in posting quality contents whether it is discussion, response or comment..uhmmm actually I just make it up PPE is actually a popular senior member of mylot, PurplePeopleEater, the first one who responded in this discussion.

Well as a friend says : DURP . I mean i ear mostly by responding to everyone discussions . And earn around 1 c for each post , well you can say mostly but still its enough . I post like 30-40 posts a day and i earn 30 c from them so i think it pays pretty well .
When you start a discussion you get extra bonus and when you respond to al lthe people in the discussion you gain another great bonus . So yes you gain mostly by discussion , because you just respond to people about thing you are interested and you dont move from the topic and look for others . But well it takes time to do so too .
I combine everything and its alright :P

Well, thanks for that nice comment, friend.
With regards to interest, may I ask you something?
I found out that every time I post a comment that is not yet listed in my field of interest mylot ask me if I want to add them, although there is an option to skip that. I am just wondering if I would just skip those addendum, will it affect my earnings for that particular comment/post?

yes we do get paid for every posts whether it is a discussion, response or comment as long as it is a quality post. I am pretty sure about that because many senior members didn't even start their own discussion for weeks or even months and just respond and comment in other discussions by fellow mylotters then if we only get paid for starting our own discussions then those members don't earn any amount of money for weeks or months. Hope you get what I mean.

uhmm let's say it like this If we don't reply/comment back to the responses in our discussion we earn less than what we can earn if we reply to the responses, the more responses you replied to the more you will earn (still depend on the quality).

Ok. If we started a discussion then someone post his response, and as a discussion starter, it happened that you were not able to post a respond or answer to his', will that affect also your earnings? Because I am just wondering since in discussion, there is supposed to have an interaction between the poster(discussion started) and respondents right?

I think we can get paid. Actually, when you raise a post, and your post draws lots of response, which is not meaning that you will earn lots of money, because the people who respond your post will earn from their work, while if you don't comment back, then even your post draws lots of responses, you will not earn because you are not active.
We will earn from what we type, while others earn with their typing.

Of course.
Read the faq's and you will know.
I don't start discussion always and I like responding to my friends and other mylotters discussion and having inter-action with friends inspires me to post more and earn more as well.
