Hi mylotter, Today is a bad day for me. Whenever I am going to school by motorcycle and pass small road, I saw a little girl riding her bike in the left side of the road and for about 500 m I give her some horn. I'm really sure that she heard it. I also get my motor slowler for about less 40 km/hour. But, when I get so close with her, she turns her bike to the right and left up to the middle of the road. It makes me so shocked cos we are so closed, I'm afraid that I'll crash her and we will get bad accident. I'm so nervous and my heart beat so faster. I'm really afraid of it. I don't know what is the wiser act should I do whenever facing children as now. Have you ever face it too? Could you help me to give the wiser act to do? Thank you, Happy mylotting!

I think you get off your car, accompany the child to its home. The, talk to her parents about what she is doing.

Maybe you could kindly go talk to her parents. I am sure they would appreciate in the long run. Someone might not be as nice as you to slow down for this child in the same predicament. It is not a tattle issue but a safety one for this child.

There are very few ways to prevent random accidents like that, that is why they are called incidents and accidents, because they are not intentional, and almost no amount of intent could prevent the accident from happening. That is the risk with hurtling your body through space at 40, 50 and even 100 miles per hour, that as your body and your machine, be it car or motorcycle, are moving through space in a series of straight lines or arcs, should your vehicle hit some immovable or larger object which causes it to stop, your body is still hurtling through space at that speed, until it hits something that stops it. Even a smaller object like a little girl on a bike, since she is moving much slower than you are if you hit her she could still cause you to fly through the air until you fetched up against something. A car, another biker, a wall, or the ground. There really is no way to prevent an accident from happening. Just remain aware of what is going on around you. Don't wear headphones or anything that will obstruct your ears from hearing warning sound around you like sirens, bells, horns, screams etcetera. Drive cautiously whenever possible but aggressively enough to see the narrow gaps and spaces around you that you could accelerate into if someone suddenly plows into your path like that. You can't drive for everyone around you but at least a motorbike is more maneuverable than a car and can fit through smaller gaps and lanes in traffic. Good luck and safe driving!

oh no... that is not good. you should always be careful and be aware of your surroundings, especially when you are driving the bike. it is always bes to be a defensive driver/rider so you would be safe as well.

Yeah you are right being the defensive rider is safer cos doing the right thing on the road doesn't has any guarantee to be safe on it thanks for your suggestion

If I have much time, it can be done I have to do my other activities. Moreover, I can't do more cos several person here always think that the adult should be fault one and the children are the victims. How bad thing is it! But what should I do, it is the reality.

It sounds like you are as careful as you can be. Good for you. It is not your fault that the little girl was not as careful as you are. Her parents should have taught her to be more careful on the road. It is so dangerous with so many careless drivers. The thing with children and animals on the road is that one never know which way they are going to turn. Going as slow as possible is the best course of action. Where I am now, one can find lots of animals on the road, such as cows, camels, dogs, etc. Whenever I see, I just slow down as much as possible in order to avoid any mishap.

Thanks a lot, you seems knowing what I face and ever face the same condition as me. It makes me feel better. This situation makes my awareness higher. But, I can't do anything for avoiding this girl and another girls to do the same things too cos their parents don't pay much attention to them whenever they are on the road. What a Poor thing is it? Seeing children playing by themselves without adult attention

Please remember when using powered vehicles on the road that speed kills. The slower you go the more chance that we will be alive at the end of the day. Unfortunately little children do not have a lot of road sense so we have to think for them. They are erratic and may do to the unexpected.

Very good areskya you did slow down and probably saved hurting the child but it is still frightening when you have a near miss. You have learned a valuable lesson and saved an accident and probably more in the future. Now look out for old people who wander out into the road without looking.

Thanks. It makes more careful in facing children on the road now. I ride my vehicles as slowlest as I can whenever among them. You're right that children are not fault fully cos they don't have enough road sense, they don't understand yet about what they have to do and don't do on the road.
