Going to a religious event or praying to God privately? Me I'd rather choose praying to God privately. It is because I believe that prayers is an intensely private event between one person with God. And when you pray privately you are being able to open up everything in you to God. I noticed that going to a religious event is sometimes, being done by others just to show in public that they really pray and that praying to them is not anymore a pure act. Sometimes people often forget what is their intentions in going to religious places, events they just would want to be secured in their minds that they do religious acts without even that pure intentions in their hearts. What do you think? Which would you prefer?

I would prefer praying in private because its less hussle, you can do it anywhere, at anytime. It doest matter if people doesnt see you attending those charismatic events, what is important is that you attend mass every sunday and you always pray. Some people would just attend religious gathering to show off that they are religious enough but actually they're not.

For me, I will do both. I'll go to church to join the community and also get several good suggestions. Praying privately, it's quite peaceful and harmony with the upper spirit. In the church, I can also absorb holy atmosphere that only found in there.

for me i rather pray to god privately as if i am just talking to him right next to me...even though i didn't go to church every sunday just what like others did i didn't forget to pray to him and talk to him every day of my life!!!if i had a problem and i don't have someone to talk to i just pray to him just like a child talking to her father when someone hurt her...

I do not often go to church only when needed but those who think they go quiet when you are sharing the sins.

I believe it should not matter if an individual prefers to pray privately or attend religious events. A majority of people attend church just to (like you said) "show" that they pray! I know quite of few people like that myself. It's more like a fashion show and they just put on a front as though they are so religious. I prefer to privately pray to God because it does not matter if you're in a church or at home, the Lord knows, and that's all that should matter.

Going to a religious event can have its drawbacks. It may end up just being entertainment, which is fine for recreation, but not for spiritual growth or refreshing. At the same time, thee are a number of good things that can come out of going, especially if you share the experience with a special one, or a group of friends. Private prayer, quiet time and meditation are obviously much different. When we pray in groups, we may find that we ourselves are not totally sincere and focused, even to God.

I rarely go to church for masses. I too pray in the comfort of my room or most of the time when I am alone. I think we have the same thoughts in so far as prayer is concerned. I pray to God privately. I consider this a personal matter. I am not saying that going to church is wrong or hearing masses is wrong. But within myself, I can communicate with God more if I am alone and speak my intentions well when there are no distractions.

Which would be batter that depends on situation. But in my opinion pray with others is more efficient. Because in that time your prayer will be held with so many people so that will be more strong. Moreover if anybody pray with others that doesn't mean that anybody or anythings going to interrupt between God and our self.

The first thing we must do to be a real son of God is to have that inside, it really doesn't matter if we go public, although I believe a church may have a lot of good spirit's influence in there as they might visit it and change the energy, but it's really about inside us, to pray to thank only and to watch our own actions and evolve. And to please God only by doing good to others, be them humans, animals or the green and Earth.

I would agree with you that there are really some people who just go to church just for show. Personally, I pray privately but it's also nice that aside that you pray privately, you also go to church because it's the highest form of prayer. I believe that God judges our motives. So, even what our motives are in going to church, we must not mind others. Let's just give the judgment to God.

I also choose to have private time with God. But it doesn't mean that I don't want to be with the masses. It's nice to praise and sanctify God with everybody. Still, I prefer doing it privately. I feel I can reach out more to God when I am alone.

For me I would choose praying to GOD privatly. I am a private person, and usually avoid religous group. It all the same to me whether I pray with a group of people or not. I know people who go to church every sunday, and do terrible things on a normal basis. I think its much important to have good morals, and values, and it should be in line with your religion.
