I generally do not buy chocolates. But still I have a boxful of chocolates in the fridge. Some shared by friends. The rest given on birthdays by colleagues and fellow travellers. Have had half a bar of chocolate early morning today and am tempted to have more now. How much of chocolates is okay for us? I do not have diabetes so do not need to refrain from eating.

They say, whoever they are, that only dark chocolate has any health benefits so if it isn't dark chocolate than any amount you eat isn't healthy. Sugar is no good for us, no matter if we are diabetic or not.
But in saying all that I am a big chocolate eater. It is my most favourite thing in the world. Whether it is a chocolate bar or in a box as you talk about or if it is chocolate ice cream, I love them. If I have chocolate in my house it doesn't last to the next day. I have to eat it all. So I rarely have it in the house and when I crave it I have to go to the store to buy it and that, a lot of the times, deters me from eating it because it is too cold or stormy outside or I am just too lazy to go buy some so I eat less.
It really is amazing that I don't have a weight problem with all the chocolate I eat. The thing I do is I bing eat. I'll eat so much of it at once and then not touch it again for a week. It seems to work good for me in not gaining weight that way. If I eat a little every day of that week I will put on 5 pounds but if I eat what I would eat all week in one sitting I don't put on any pounds at all.
Cheers and happy mylotting ,
Chris

I do have a weight problem and I tend to put on weight very easily. So for that I have to be a bit extra careful about what I eat. This is the reason I do not buy chocolates because the shop is just a few minutes from my home and I would be tempted to buy the chocolates everyday. I try not to have too many chocolates in one sitting and have just a little bit everyday.

Maybe one bar a day is okay. I really don't know. But a little a day is definitely okay. It's just okay to eat chocolates everyday, just in moderation.

I know it wasn't what you asked, but the LD50 (lethal dose in half the cases) of chocolate is about 1000 mg/kg (as per Wikipedia). This means if you weight 60 kilograms (132 pounds) you could probably eat up to 60,000 milligrams of chocolate before dying. Put another way, you have nothing to worry about ;)

If you were trying to frighten me and keep me away from the chocolates with your response I regret to inform you that you have not succeeded. I am not at all scared of dying. I know too much of chocolate is not good for health and that is the reason I do not buy chocolates. Than many less chocolates for me to eat.

Dark chocolate is good for you. It's the sugar that's bad. I buy sugar free chocolate. I do not eat a lot of it because too much of anything is not good for you. Eating a 1.6-ounce bar of dark chocolate every day is good for you, according to experts. So, go ahead! ENJOY!

P.S.Can you share some of your Chocolates? I love them!!!!!!!!! lol
But seriously, i think eating chocolates don't do any harm to our health, but, not unless you're going to make chocolate eating a daily habit, then i guess later on in your life it will cause you some kind of sickness. Just don't wait until it happened, a little taste of sweetness makes you sweet, lol :-)

You dont know me in real life that is why you asked this question. Everyone who knows me knows that I dont share my chocolates. And the best way to make me happy is to give me chocolates or icecreams. I generally dont eat too many chocolates. Today morning got tempted and had half a bar of chocolate. May be days before I have my next bite. Totally depending upon my moods.

It is good to enhance the brain and refresh the mind but still we should be careful not to eat to much.
