i have never tried it. and i am afraid to try it because i dont trust much about the quality of things online. but then how can i when i always take the earnings from paypal because i am afraid one day it becomes like indian procedures and rules wherein one cannot be allowed to leave their money in paypal for long. anyways, that is not the reason why i made this discussion. i am just wondering, using paypal for example, one wants to buy something online but money there is not enough. does paypal accepts money from personal accounts (like savings from bank accounts) so as to fund the purchases? have anyone tried this procedure or is it allowed? ann

Hi tigeraunt Well, I tried once and experienced a bad product. That was in 2008-9 and those days Paypal was not having so many of restrictions for Indians. Probably that was the only time I purchased anything online. It was from eBay. Now as I had received a damaged product, it should have been handled by eBay as per their policies but never did anything of that kind happened. So I never ever think of wasting my income/earnings on anything online. But, being in the world of website design and development, I have to occasionally buy the domain names for my clients but that doesnt happen via paypal today(thanks to the RBI guidelines who think every Indian is a terrorist or a smuggler), I ask the clients to use their credit cards for the purchase. For your query, yes, Paypal allows to update the balance from the bank if you have a verified account. But there are some restrictions into play. I had uploaded only once for the purchase mentioned above.

Like GiftsAndBags said, I have my bank account tied to my PayPal. This lets them remove funds when I pay for something but I rarely do that. I mainly use PayPal to collect funds and deposit them to my account, where I leave them and forget about them till I have an emergency. Anyway, you can tie your account to it and it's very easy. Happy shopping!

Yes, my checking account is actually linked to my paypal account. This means that when I'm making a purchase for something that costs more than the funds that are available in my paypal account, it will flip over to draw off of my checking account. You are also able to link credit cards to paypal as well, but we don't do that because we don't use credit cards anymore.

I believe in paypal, they never let me down. Actually I haven't tried to go shopping online with paypal yet, usually I used ATM transfer within my country. Although I'm sure that if I want to shop with paypal, it will be safe for me. My experience with paypal is to draw my money and transfer it to my local bank account, always work.

hello chrisding, credit card would be very easy to use by just linking it to paypal. but what i meant here was the savings or current account. many says i should link it with paypal. but then what i have is a peso account (savings and current). will paypal allow to link it to them? or do i need to open a dollar account? now am thinking of the charges .. i know you are thinking it too now. thank you for your response. ann

PayPal will accept funds from any bank account, but you have to link the account to your PayPal and be able to prove that the account belongs to you. I honestly think that shopping online is one of the best things, because if the item that you buy s bad quality then you always have the chance to send it back and get your money back if it isn't to the standard that you had hoped that it would be. I think that it is rather safe in most countries, although I am from the UK so I can't say for certain what the service in your country is like.

hi gemma, i am glad to know that. so what i just need now is to link it with paypal. i am wondering, what if you receive a bad quality item and you wanted it returned, does it take long? that would be too taxing especially if you already need to use it and then it comes "unuseable". what a headache! ann

I never had any problem with things purchased online, with Paypal or otherwise. In answer to your question, if you have linked your bank account and/or your debit/credit card, Paypal will take the money from your account to pay for your purchase. At the time of payment, it will ask you how you would like to fund your purchase. In some countries, Paypal allows part payment from Paypal balance and the rest from bank account/credit card. This feature is not there in all countries. Like in India, we cannot use our Paypal balance at all. Before that, there was a time that we can use our Paypal balance, but if our balance is not enough, full payment is taken from our bank account.

hello zralte, am glad to know you never had problems with online purchasing. i have heard about india and i find that not good. its like you are not allowed to spend your hard earned money outside of the country. hope someday the restrictions are taken out and you can again use whatever is in paypal for your indulgence. have a nice day. and thank you. ann

Hey there. Shopping using paypal is safe. I am from the Philippines and I already ordered many products online using paypal as my payment method. Recently, I ordered a new set of pickups and like all other transactions I made, it went really smooth. I already received the product couple of days ago. With regards to your question insofar as the bank accounts are concerned, there are several cards that paypal allows that you link in your to it so that you can place funds in it. Hope this helps. Cheers
