i met in my dream an old love. I have not thought of him for many years, but he looked the same and I had no trouble speaking to him as though it was just yesterday
that I had seen him. But in my waking state I am not sure I would be as easy. I found this very strange, that I would dream this way, I don't usually dream of the past.

your subconscious must be trying to tell you that... you still love your old love. maybe you ought to see your old love again? dreams... sometimes, makes more sense than reality.

Hey just about two days ago I dreamt of my old love too. I had not thought of him in a while now and he still haunts me. he gave me this warm hug after a fight in my dream. It is kinda like bringing my old memories back. i don't know why i saw him but I have nothing more to do with people of the past.

Hi savypat, Time does not seem to exist in the dream state and you would have been thinking exactly as you did when you last saw him. That would explain why you had no trouble speaking to him. All that's happened in your life since then was still in the future. In your waking state, you would have a lot more to contend with, so you are probably right in thinking that it wouldn't be as easy. Blessings.

That has happened to me many times in the past. It hasn't happened in about a year now. However, I never could understand how that happens especially if I was not thinking of this person that day or recently. When that does happen I feel really weird the whole day and out of sorts. Especially if it was a long dream and intimate dream.

It must have been on your mind at some point. Or you watched something on TV and it triggered your subconscious some how when you went to sleep. I think it's normal to think or dream of the past. I guess it is more of reflecting.

I don't remember my dreams immediately upon awakening. Going about my activities during the day, often a flash of a dream will come to me. Usually something has occurred during the day that made no impression at the time but I'll later dream of something related. Some people claim that they don't dream but I think they just don't remember. It is said that you can't function if you can't dream.
