I have a very good collection of SMSes sent to me by friends and family in my mobile. I delete a few after forwarding them to others in my contact list but there are many that are too good to be deleted. Have now transferred them to my laptop. Do you save messages on your mobile or delete them soon after reading them.

Hi Mayka,
I have my phone set to automatically delete messages after a certain period of time. The only ones I delete at once are if I get junk messages you know those ones from unknown numbers. Those I delete without ever opening them.

Are you sure you don't have a setting for that. Usually somewhere in the phone's setup, it gives you the option to either delete messages after so many get to the inbox, or after a certain storage size is reached. Others have an option to delete messages after so many days. Different phone manufacturers have the option in different places.

HI!
I do some very good messages on my mobile and could not make self understand that those could be deleted. I try to retain as much as possible, depending upon the memory of my handset. Although, few weeks ago, due to some weird SMS or some technical problem, I lost all my saved messages at one go. It happened after I received an SMS from a new number.
I am trying to build up my stock once again ............lol!
May like to see this one:

I reemember you mentioning about some technical fault in your mobile. I hope you have built up your stock of SMSes now. I have now the option of downloading the sms on my laptop so have saved everything here. Have become a little lazy though now in forwarding my messages. Too preoccupied with a lot of other things just now. Will have to soon start sending the messages to help others build their stock!!!!

It is good that you could save the SMSs on your laptop.

I have tons of emails that are too good to delete on my computer. I have them filed in folders of who sent them and sometimes pull them back up to send to someone else. I don't have a smart phone yet though so I don't get these kind of messages on my phone.

Hi Mayka, i do saved some of the SMSes which sound very interesting. In fact, there are a few SMSes which being sent by my friends sounds very interesting and meaningful. So, i will save them in my mobile and forward them whenever i feels like to share them with the others. Even there are a few beautiful picture MMSes which i had saved in my mobile Because they are very meaningful and beautiful. So far, i haven't transferred them to my laptop yet. Because my mobile seems still having very large storage capacity.

I rarely save sms from friends or family or even co workers. If they sent something important then I will put it in my notebook. I just checked my phone and I have only 4 messages saved, I think that is pretty small considering I had my phone for 2 years now.

Dude I have a collection of 1500 Jokes in my cell phones. Can you imagine 1500 jokes on one cell phone. Well thats a huge number among my friends. But they are of no use. They are just consuming 2MB of my 6MB of phone memory. Maybe someday I will delete them all.

Hello, mayka123! When I was younger, I used to save so many messages. But now that I'm already 38, I don't feel saving any. Maybe because I enjoy deleting messages through delete all. LOL I have a lot of saved messages in my yahoo email. I made a folder for each friend, and I always move their important messages to their specific folders.
I have some saved messages in my other number. It's my sim number for my Globe tattoo stick plan. They are all messages from Globe with regard to my monthly bills.

I have got umpteen messages in my email inbox-es. After all the space there is unlimited. But in our mobile handset we have limited space so we cannot save all the messages that we receive. So sometimes I am in a fix as to which messages to delete and which to keep.

Yes I do save a lot of msgs and now have more than 100 msgs stored on my mobile. I like to store some jokes or funny msgs which I may have liked, some thought provoking forwads I can read again and amost importantly some of the more romantic msgs my fiance has sent me. When I look back and read these msgs ( especially my finace's ) it really makes me happy and even when we sometimes fight a look at these msgs calms me down as I remember the good times.

I have a LOT of saved messages on my mobile phones! They are so many that my phones would often flash a "95% or 100% full" reminder so I'd have to delete several at one go to be able to send a new message.
But before I do erase something, I have this small notebook where I write down the messages that really touched me. I include there the dates and names of the persons who sent the SMS.
Since I write for print publications, I also get a lot of appreciative text messages from people I have interviewed and featured in my articles and I really try to keep those as much as possible. It's so nice to read them once in a while especially during times when I get frustrated with my work and I need to be inspired to keep writing again.

I used to do that too. I would save all the wonderful quotes and inspiring messages and even the jokes. I would also just delete them when Ive "spread the message". Then my saving habits changed from quotes to specific sms conversations with a particular someone. It could be a funny recollection from a friend or just the simple greetings from my special someone. Those conversations/messages that never fail to make me smile, giggle, and even laugh when I read them again.
Right now, I saved a year's worth of conversation from a particular someone. We grew close but somehow, the past months, made us grew apart. So as part of my New Year's celebration, Im deleting everything from my inbox, specially those sms' that came from him.
Im starting the new year fresh, full of hope, and positivity for the next year.
Merry Christmas^_^

Hello mayka: you seem to be having a very lively & interesting friend group with every one creating lovely messages. Good to know! Yea, and you are doing the right thing by optimizing the methods to organize and archive good ones.
I get no such meaningful messages. I know however that the mobile device has a setting to retain a certain no. of messages. I have not had to change those either.
