As a hockey freak I'm often amazed at the number of people who cannot ice skate. Of course growing up on Lake Erie and having winters of ice covered lake to skate on helped me! lol Do you know how to ice skate?

you'll learn to love it and just remember.... don't stand too straight.. your center of gravity helps keep you standing so keep your butt down! lol

Ice skating is my favorite activity after running. Especially outside with the skyline all around. I've lived in Ohio, Chicago, and New Jersey, so being outside in cold weather doesn't bother me. Most memorable skating I had was in Vermont when the Connecticut River was frozen over and I was skating down the middle of it, the ice was smooth as glass.

I learned to ice skate when I was 5 and we lived in Connecticut. I still go to ice skating rinks here in SC. Of course, there aren't alot of them, but this time of year, they bring in the ice trucks and freeze a parking lot for everyone!!

This is one of the sports I always wanted to try, and I never have!! But Ice Skating Rinks in England there are not too many of The biggest is in Nottingham, and that is because of the World Champions, (Torville and Dean) (1980 - 1990) The other "Winter" sport I wanted to do was to Ski, but I failed at this one!

don't put it off... if you get the chance go for it... a lot of rinks have beginner classes for adults that allow you to use helpers out on the ice, much like a chair to hold on to while you learn to skate!
