Insulted by a Website

Philippines

Friends.. Today is christmas and i was insulted by a website whom i contacted via email. Just so you know, i had been scouting for websites who sell choral pieces and that i had been inquiring on their shipping cost. I dropped a mail on a certain website (i would rather not mention the name of the site) and i said that i am from the philippines and i would like to inquire on your shipping rates as i would also be ordering in bulk... Just now, the website replied to me and said, "thank you for your scam invitation but we are not interested." I was stunned! so stunned to consider that the website is a bit on the spiritual side. Aw shoot!!! What does this website take me for? How could they be careless enough to think that i would be scammer when i should be considered as a valued client! When i meant bulk, i really meant bulk as in huge! Besides, i was just merely asking for the the shipping cost as it is not explained in their profiles. I tried not to reply but i couldnt stand it... I am sooooooooo insulted and disappointed.... to consider that today is Christmas here in the Philippines! I answered back, "thank you for your insult especially on a christmas evening. Just so you know, i have checked all the dealer sites of Hal Leonard Publishing because i am interested to sell choral pieces here in my country as we do not have specialty shops for that. Filipinos are a musical breed and i was only hoping to expand our choral literature. Thank you. Goodness gracious! I have soooo controlled myself to avoid saying this in my closing remark... "You have just lost an business opportunity, you racist monster!!!"

Maybe, your ip address and or email have been blacklist by some site.Whether you or others who done something that could make it happen. A bank or company will share about it to others. Just double check about it first, even it will be hard. They give that answer straightly, I believe they have a strong reasons.

Thats only my opinion, but persume if that was true. Let say that you are the store owner and then someone that you know ever stolen from your store come again. What will you do? As we all know that our ip address was our identity in online world.Neither did our email.

Whatever reason they have, doesn't give them the right to accuse other people as scammer whenever they feel like it. It's a business, that's noy how you treat your potential customer.

Merry Christmas. Before YOU become all judgemental (remember - "goodwill toward men" not just those who show goodwill towards you); did you stop and consider WHY they sent that message to you? Isn't it highly likely THEY were scammed by someone either from your country OR with the same ISP (@xxxxx.xxx) that you use for your email service. I know it is not right to judge everyone in a group for something that a few bad people have done; but, it is human nature.

It could also have been some minion who was mortally pissed at having to work Christmas Eve. There are people who will vent their ire on their employer's customers ... I am still astounded at the video of the Fedex employee who was caught on a security camera literally throwing a computer monitor over a fence. Glad to say, Fedex immediately apologised, replaced the goods without question and are reported as saying that that day 'will not be one of that employee's best days' (one can assume that he lost his job and won't find another in a hurry!)

And aren't you supposed to "turn the other cheek", "judge not, lest ye be judged" and "forgive them for they know not what they do"? No wonder a lot of people think Christians are a bunch of hypocrites when they push Christ's teachings on others; but, refuse to actually practice his teachings even during the season when his birth is being celebrated!

I am appalled that anyone could even think to reply in such a manner. I think that you should publish the name of the site

Let me try again (after hitting the 'post' button instead of the 'code' button in error! ... I am appalled that anyone could even think to reply in such a manner. I think that you should publish the name of the site! At the very least you should email them again with the URL of this discussion. What you quoted didn't seem to me to be a racist remark (perhaps other things in the email were) but it was unconscionably rude, Christmas or not! That site deserves to have no business at all! I sincerely hope that you get an apologetic reply!

Hi owlwings! Would you believe... they didnt even apologize when i sent my reply to their sarcasm!?! They replied with this ... You are quite welcome, Feliz Navidad Eewwwrrr... What kind of customer service do you call that? The name of the website is AngelMusicUSA.com. With a website name like that, i was expecting to be kind. Eewwrrr...

I'd probably think you were scamming too. What do you mean by bulk? Is this a company that sells in bulk? How many thousands of each piece do you need? Did you tell them how many you wanted? Did you give a company name? Did you use a company email address? What company does business on Christmas or just before new years for that matter? What company would order merchandise a few days before New Years? Talk about a tax mistake.

Catlady.. The website is a music site... There are many choral sheets out there that i need and i intend to buy more than a hundred of them because we dont have choral sheets in our country. This is for personal and church use, i cant use my employer's address for something that i can personally gain on. Since, it is a personal order, i do it during my free time and that includes holidays.

Yikes!!! That's pretty bad, especially because you were inquiring as anyone would. It's not like you were asking for money or asking them to give you free samples. I'm glad you emailed them back with that polite but informative retort. Hopefully the person in the company who reads that will realize their mistake, but you won't have to respond if they email you back with apologies. Also, have you tried RipOffReport.com? Any companies who rip off customers or show terribly bad customer service behavior (like in this case) can be reported by consumers on that website. If I were you, I'd take this up with a few consumer agencies. You didn't deserve to be treated like that, and neither will the next guy. Let other customers know to take business elsewhere, and perhaps the company will be seeing a difference. You handled it well. It's hard not to include the "racist monster" comment, I know! At least you've proven to be of a higher level than them with your professionalism. Like I said, though, I'd highly encourage you to repeat your experiences on consumer websites, when at all applicable. Other people should know to avoid them if they'd like to avoid prejudice.

Hi Lovinglife! I reported the site to RipoffReport as you suggested. I noted there that the reports would never be deleted even if i asked.

you racist monster!!!" Did you really include those last words? I wouldn't blame you for replying that way. I know when we are insulted, especially if we don't mean to scam or anything, we'll suddenly give them a piece of our mind. Just so they realize their mistake, which I hope they realized it. I don't know how they accept a business. When I receive inquiry letters before and doubts it a scam I just won't respond on it and say those rude words.

hahaha! gladly, i didnt say that. There was one comment in here that online shops are weary of bulk orders and sadly, Philippines has been marked as one of the scammers.

i wonder why they have replied to you that way when you only asked, did you email them or you posted a comment in their website so they can contact you? I am lost for other words, i am not sure i know what to say about this... hmm but well i guess it is really their lost. even if they had some or a lot of scammers, i think that is no excuse because one customer may not be what they think he is/she is...

Very racist indeed. Have they replied already? Maybe they thought you weren't serious. Maybe it was because of grammar too since most foreigners discriminate based on what is on their plate at the moment. They can't see you but they can see what you type. In this case, you have also stated that you are from the Philippines. Maybe they had few clients that conned them. They're just being careful, but too careful, I say.

That really is incredibly rude of them to respond to you like that. You should try filing a complaint at the Better Business Bureau at bbb.org. and see how they like that. Maybe if they get a formal complaint, they'll take you a little more seriously. They need to know that they treated a legitimate customer badly and they should apologize to you. There's no excuse for that kind of horrible customer service. You should also post your experience everywhere on the internet that you can to warn others. People need to know that AngelMusicUSA.com is synonymous with rotten customer service and that they treat potential customers badly.

I guess all you have to do is just turn away from them. I believe somewhere somehow, that site has been scammed or played tricks on already, so in the event that they meet an invitation that smells similar, they quickly react. I am not saying that they are correct. In fact, I am saying that they are wrong. This is why I am suggesting that you just turn your back on them.

that sounds like a very exciting idea. the reply you received by email was extremely unprofessional, and you are right to be offended, but see it as an indication that they are probably, in any case, not the sort of people you would want to work with. so just see it as a sign that they aren't up to the job and find people to supply you who are more polite. this sounds like something very interesting to do, hopefully you will let us know how you get on.

Well it surprised me too after i read your post here. I can't believe they say that you are a scammer just for asking shipping rates. They should be professional enough for they able to selling something through websites. How can they survive selling something without some manners like that. Well for me it's insulting enough and you better never visit their site anymore. I hope you can get ovet it quickly because today is a Christmas^_^ Merry Christmas to you...

My goodness! That's totally rude. That's totally not professional. I am completely mad just by reading your story. I'd add that closing remark is I were you! Well, there's a good side of everything. They're not worth to be your business partner and they saved you from future headache with that attitude.

What?! How disgraceful and unprofessional are they! They have lost a valuable client. I have been contacting various sites about certain products and so far I haven't got a reply like that. The sites that I have inquired have excellent customer services. If that would happen to me, then I would have to give them a very bad rating... Very unprofessional are they! Better look for a better company. I wouldn't be amazed if they were losing now their business... Whatever race deserves to be treated well.

As far as I know, there are no any official site has the right to judge its customers, and said like that. one thing they need to know is that they've certainly lost a valuable customer. And if they are aware, they should immediately apologize to you as soon as possible.
