I wonder why I always catch Cold or swollen throat everytime I take Vitamin C. I don't take Vitamin C regularly, I take it after a few months, my bf gave me a vitamin C tablet and I've been taking it for a few days, a few times I woke up with swollen throat but easily rid during the day. Now I got colds, I've never been cold for more than a year now. Is there are scientific explanation to this? Mind sharing if you know about this? Thanks!

If you take Vitamin C you should take it together with Vitamin E and Iron (Ferrous sulfate). Because Vitamin C looses effects when we pee, it goes and flush together with the urine. But if you take it together with other Vitamins it will easily absorb by our body.

If you have observed that after you took vitamin C, there was a side effect then it would mean your body responds with not normal condition. Try to observe more. If the cause of it is really the vitamin C, just forget taking it since you are having side effects. Or maybe you don't just used to taking vitamin C at first but later your body will go normal.

I think I will pick the last part of your response, my body return to its normal condition after continuing taking the vitamin. I just don't understand why it had to happen every first take of vitamin C.

this is puzzling for me too. i take vitamin C to prevent colds. probably you have reaction against vitamin c. i am not sure though what it is. you better change your vitamin c. or probably it is not the vitamin c that is causing your colds and swollen throat. my concern is you better see a doctor so that you will know why.

Maybe Vitamin C ain't enough for your body, better consult your doctor for that issues, because they really know better than us . :)

Maybe, but it happens everytime I stop and take vitamin C again. I have tried about 3-4 kinds of vitamins and almost all of them have the same effect every first take.
