Why do dogs eat cat poo?

From what i understand...dogs eat poop (any type..cat cow dog...etc) for a variety of reasons. Boredom Nutrients - a body never 100% digests all nutritional value in food re-eating it...gets left behind nutrition and Dogs are natural scavengers. I was low on cash for a while and a bought a lower quality dog food. When i did that i found that my pup at the time actually would eat her own poop. The vet told me that the food i had gotten didnt have enough nutritional value so she was reating it as she was hungry and lacking minerals...I havent cheaped out on food for my pets since. if its their own poop...sometimes its to hide the evidence that they messed in the house. A way to get your attention. - even if its negative they still get your attention when they do something like eat poop and it drives you nuts!

Probably if they are too hungry? My dog do not eat her poop or cat's poop. But I saw some dogs are eating this kind of stuffs. Our neighbor told me once that poops are nutricious but I guess this dogs should still be given proper food. It is still kind of gross hehe.

My male labrador does that too and we're so scared that he might get poisoned from the cat poop. I think it goes with the dogs' territorial behavior. So whenever they see another poo in their territory all their choice would be to eat the poo to remove any trace of territory of the cat.

generally dogs will eat cat poo due to the high proteins in cat food that are not fully digested its like candy for dogs :P and more motivation to keep that litter box good and clean

i have same situation..my dog named charlie eats the poo of my cat.. but i'm already used to it..hehehehe all i have to do is to remove it after it poo so it won't eat the poo anymore..
