Taking sleeping pills is a big NO! NO! It will not do good to you! You'll just get dependent on it. Why not try doing some exercise before going to sleep? Getting myself totally exhausted is my technique if I want to get a good night sleep. Try it and see if it will also work for you.

There must be something that has caused you this problem. It happened to me many years ago. To cure you of this problem, follow this:
1) When you can not sleep, never think why you can not sleep. Instead do something to make you busy: reading, fixing things or what ever. Forget your being unable to sleep. Keep yourself busy until you feel tired and you will sleep without realizing it.
2) This will help, I hope.

all i can say is to try everything u can,but please do not start taking sleeping pills.it creates addiction and after a while even if u take them you will have sleeping problems.most of the people that use them get to take more and more pills and they are only causing them harm.try massage, tea, relaxation music, but most of all try to get out of your head all the problems before you go to sleep.do not go to sleep thinking about what you have to do tomorrow or what happened in the day that passed.

Try to be active in daytime so at night you will fall asleep easily. I once had insomnia but already recover by being active at day time. Or can you tell me your problem. I don't mind, PM me okay?

Hi jakeyangchao,
I'm not sure what causes your insomnia. Have you seen a doctor to rule out any medical problem? If you have and that there's nothing wrong with you physically then your being unable to get a good night's sleep may be due to stress. Being stessed out in your waking hours can certainly have a detrimental effect on your sleep and ultimately your health. Examine yourself and your lifestyle and try to pinpoint where your stress originate. You need to reduce your stress and 'free' the mind before you can sleep properly. Of course it's easier said than done. But you must have the desire and motivation to do it or else your problem will not go away. I wish you a good night's sleep, really.

Hello jakeyangchao,
To get better sleep at night one should do some good physical work in a day so that he/she may get tired and could sleep well at night.Secondly one should not sleep in day time as it kills sleep at night.if you have the habit of drinking tea/coffee at night then leave it as it act as anti sleeping factor.

Hi! Have you tried taking a hot/cold half bath before going to sleep? I think that would also help you to relax before laying down. If your sleeping problem takes too long to recover, why not try to consult a specialist, I think he/she can absolutely help you in many possible ways ^_^ just an advice dear friend. ^_^

You can try a short walk before bedtime;tea of thime, semi warm shower before bedtime, or a few drops of lavender oil on a side of your pillow. I mean on a cotton ball or a piece of cloth. Very good is a tea of valerian roots as well. I hope I was helpful.

I saw a documentary that having a warm bath before you go to bed is one solution. The program explains that it is when your body goes from a high temperature to a cooler temperature that makes you sleepy.
It helps when you are tired too. If you choose to excercise, do it a hour or more before bedtime and have that warm bath. You also have to practise relaxing your mind. The more you think about things, the more stress you will feel.
I do think the milk does help too. It has to be warm. That will set the body temperature from hot to cool also.
For me I cannot go to bed hungry unless I am very tired. So have your meal early so that the hunger pangs wont keep you awake. Another solution to make me tired is to go online. Of cos this is quite bad actually, I dun seem to be tired until a few hours online, i love the internet too much!
