~~~ of the RABBIT!
heh heh heh...!
The Chinese New Year is drawing near.
And the place where I worked, organized a blood donation drive.
Just what I wanted!
So for my last major charity act for the year of the Rabbit, I joined in the donation drive and donated my blood.
Given that life is such a precious commodity, it is good that one can share this gift of untold value to another when one can.
Yet, the results of the blood donation drive is not very heartening.
Less than 200 people turned up for the event.
Do you have a habit to donate blood?
Good for you for organizing a charity event. Lots of people need blood and have no or just little money to purchase a bag. Red Cross here in the Philippines often holds blood drives but I have not participated, not even once. I would love to ever since I turned 18 but I was underweight that time. Now, since my family has a history of diabetes, I'm always not approved to donate. I read somewhere that donating blood is healthy for the body since we would have the chance to replenish the blood with clean, new blood.
great to hear that your work place organised a blood donation drive. it's a pity that not many people donate blood. i remember reading somewhere that only 1% of the population donates blood regularly.
i try to donate blood regularly. one can make a donation every twelve weeks. i try to donate every twelve weeks but sometimes i can't make it. it's one of my life's goal to become a champion donor. to do so, i need to donate 80 or 100 times. i'm not even half way there and have not many more years to go. so in order to achieve my goal, i need to be really regular.
Donating what we have is highly respected, meaning that we care for others. As I believe that giving will have positive result to those who give to ohers who are in need of help. If you give you will be given either in the same form or others like being helped by others or being prevented from dangerous situations. So, let's give to others. Blood donation is one of the giving habits.
In our school our nursing department have annual blood donations program. I think I am not qualified since I am lacking with the weight requirement and also I don't get enough sleep. I am sure you will help a lot of people in donating your blood. Let us start saving lives. Donate blood when it is possible.
Well, the benefits are more for the person receiving your blood rather than to the person giving the blood.
The benefits are many... I am not able to list them all here. But... from the top of my head...
For one, in a surgery, if there is blood, there will be no delays in the scheduling the operation to fix any pains or ailments that requires it.
For accident victims, you will be able to be rescued if and when there is a need to replace the loss of blood from the accident.
Good enough reasons for you to donate?
I used to be a regular blood donor but i stopped about 2 years ago due to time constrain. In the recent months when i tried to donate, i was told i have low iron and it's not enough to help others though it's sufficient for myself Since then, i have not tried donating again, partly because of my work. But i won't stop for long and maybe after chinese new year, i shall give it a try again.. haha
hi ahgong I wish I could as its so vitally needed but somehow I cannot be accepted as a donor as one I had hepatitis when I was youndg and two I am anemic, and three I a m a diabetic. so I feel
so bad as I did donate in my youth but now I am always refused.
I am pleased that you and others do donate. a few years back I was hospitalized for bleeding diverticulitis and had to have four blood transfusions to save my life. So I am well aware of how vital it
is needed.Good luck to you and God bless.
Once i donated my blood to the charity and i think this is really a good way to help those people who need help.This does also has good sides for us,for example,it would help our blood to recycle once you donated your blood that had existed in your body.Anyway,it's really kind of you to do something for the society.God bless.
I donated my blood once in my college where the blood donation camp was there. In that donation camp which happen 2 and half year ago i donate with so many of my friends. There were many people who donated it freely. It was huge contribution from many of the students. I feel good.
Donating blood is a good habit as it will help a person in danger who need blood. You did a good job man and you should be proud of it.
