I am currently working with a group for a feasibility study our university wants us to complete. Our university intends to put up a Special Education school for "special children". My colleagues and I have started out with the first part which was to identify the possible clients or customers by floating questionnaires that would identify who are those with special children. Our next step is to prepare some sort of a marketing plan where the idea is to float a second set of questionnaire which this time, would ask if those we identified in questionnaire #1 are interested to enroll their children if ever our university pushes through with the Special Education school.
I am wondering where I can look for articles or similar studies online to help me out on this task...

First, as a parent of a special needs child, I thank and commend your university for doing this study.
I know that you asked where you could look online fo artiles, but I would suggest that you talk to the local school counselors, church and social organizations to help identify the children who would need your school.
The mainstream school and the dept. of education should be able to help you with learning what the state and federal guidelines are. These things will be important to know before you complete your marketing plan. You will want to make sure that you have covered all requirements.

The first set of questionnaires were floated to parents and other respondents to help identify the children who would need the school. The next set we are working on will actually determine other factors like interest of parents to enroll their children, the equipment/facilities they would expect, the programs they would prefer and would like to get for their children, etc.

I can't imagine that parents of special needs children would not have an interest in a school that is determined to fulfill the needs of those children. I do so hope and pray that your project is a success. As a mother of such a child, I thank you for your efforts and dedication to making the lives of these children better through providing them with such a wonderful educational opportunity.
God bless you all!!

I think you can go and search a term called SEN, the full form is "Special Education Needs" and you should be able to find many journals online about educating children with special education needs. And on the other hand, it would be great if you can be more specific, like pointing out which subjects you are particularly referring to as different approaches are adopted to teach different subjects. Like for English, there should be journals about that. I hope it helps! Good Luck!

My four year old son has spina bifida and hydrocephalus. The organization for those people was called The Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus but it recently changed its name to Shine. I therefore suggest you write a list of special needs and disabilities. Then do Internet searches for the organizations of these. I can think of Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, blind, deaf and Autism. Good luck with your project.
