This is closely related to my previous post regarding the pain of aging.I dont know what lies between the age of 32 and 54. But in England a new finding has put stats at 32 and 54 for youth and the beginning of old age respectively. Do you agree?

I cannot thank you enough for posting this discussion. I'm living with this pain hat I have wasted my entire life not living, and my youth is gone. I have atleast 12 years of my youth left.

And the years in between are the thankless slog years, euphemistically called the "middle age". By far the toughest time for humans. That's okay by me, only if the Brits had come with half the money they spent on this research, I would have told them that. Would have saved them all the footwork.

Between 32 to 54 one can enjoy the life and also earn money, watch children growing up. After 54 or 60 you become grant parent and outlook changes.

Who wouldnt love to remain in youth for eternity. Nobody atlease from my experience would want to age.But its an inevitable part of life and there is no way we can stop it.

In my view old age begins after 60 years. To postpone that we should be working online or in a company. Much depends on one's health, mental make up.

Yes nobody wants to age. Most people who are beyond 54 will always state a higher age limit. This is clear indication that inherently they do feel the pain of aging

If youth ends at 32 does this also means you are not able/responsible enough to have a family if you are younger as 32 years old? I wonder where this is based on. Sounds like a new law in our country where parents have to take care for their children (plus are financial responsible for them) till they are 32 (although they are called adults at the age of 18). I wonder how many people will like to have children if this would be true. Or is the age of 32 a very good reason to behave badly, do what you like, be not responsible for your deeds because you are still a teenager? For sure is the body of women is already aging at the age of 18 so this means they all should have children in their youth. I also wonder if these new findings are for every person in the world. How about all those people in Afrika who are already old at the age of 45 and die? It sounds weird to me and as long as I don't read/see any good reason for these new findings it's hard for me to agree with it. The only facts I know is that women are earlier mature as men and one person is more active/alive as the other. If age really counts in the end? I doubt it.

Nobody wants to lose the youthful years. I know how painful it is since i am well past it at 46.Yes these surveys dont have any sound basis.Tomorrow we will hear a diametrically opposite view.

I think our youth we get married because when we won't have time to go out with your friends and only take care of for your family. We also don't have many freedom to do whatever we want like we still alone. But I don't think after 54 we begin old, no matte how old you are, you always feel energetic and full of emotion. Living with passion, you will never feel that you're old.

It depends on how we took care of our health in our youth. Those who indulged in vices are sure to find the ill effect of it in old age. Such people lost thier power and strength at a much early age than others. So there is no general rule to suggest that 54 is the beginning of old age.

I am nineteen years old and I still feel quite old frankly. But at the same time, I feel so inexperienced. Just feeling thereis really not enough time in the world. XD I believe that most people have stopped aging mentally and emotionally for quite awhile during the middle age years.

At 19 you are feeling old? haha. I wonder how you will feel when you reach 60. Yes you are right. The perception of age is now different. Now people who are in the 50's dont feel they are old

I hate when you get given stats with no details. Who knows what parameters were set for the study. What do they call youth? Beginning old age at 50 based on what? Hereditary influences, climate, location, men, women? hahaha...... what a bunch a hooey when they just pull up numbers with no information. Is this in England only? Oh my, I'll answer this with more questions and less answers. Makes me want to strangle the people who utter stats. I remember when they said women were 7 years more mature than men. I remember hearing women live longer than men, but now they say it is more equal since women are now a part of the same stressful world as men. hahaha...... let the majority of men raise children and take care of a home and let's see how long they live. Opinion per me, childhood ends at 18 for some and 21 for others. However youthful exuberance probably lasts until about 32 years of age you might decide you are an adult. Middle age probably lasts from about the age of 32 until a person decides being an adult is tiresome and decides everything around them is redundant. So the person decides to claim old age and live it until they die. When do people decide they are old? Well, I'm 67 and don't intend to claim one minute of old age now or anywhere near in the future. I'll go down kicking and screaming before I declare I'm old. But then, I'm old and don't really care whether I am or not. As far as I see, I can come up with tons of studies that will dispute this one depending on where you live. I don't put much stock in studies without more details, and this sounds like one of those media statements designed to get people aroused and upset about their age and maturity. I don't think I'll buy it.

No I don't believe this is so. There are many factors that should be considered when we talk about aging. One of the most important factors is health. If you are 50 and in the best health then you will feel younger than someone in their 30's who is suffering from different ailments. Another factor is the environment and economic status. If you are in the city, it is very difficult to distinguish those in their 30's from those in their 50's because of cosmetics and enhancements. Those with successful careers usually appear younger than their counterparts who are suffering from poverty and deprivation. The best that can be done is to keep yourself physically and mentally fit in order that age will not deprive you of happiness and fulfillment. It pains us to age but we can always do it gracefully.

Youthfulness is a dream of everyone. It may not be depend upon aging, it relates to mental-strength. Richard Morphy, a renowned author, has proved that actual youth comes in a human life above the age of 50 years onward. Of course, agreed.
