Yeah, being addicted and obsessed with a thing or a habit can be destructive to oneself. All in balance. Follow the food pyramid right?

Of course, dessert is good. But you should eat fruit in stead of eating cake or ice cream. Sweet is not good for your health. It will cause a lot of disease such as heart attack, obese.

Fruits as desserts. That's a good idea, I could try having fruit shakes without the sugar.

For as long as you eat in moderation then you have nothing to worry. You can always eat dessert everyday. But actually when you do really love sweets eating in moderation would be too hard. The tendency would be you eat more than what you should and you'd end up obese or diabetic or both. So I suggest you avoid sweets if you can't control yourself and when you do eat sweets make sure you drink lots of water and engage in exercise too.

I assume it depends on the kind of dessert, the amount of the dessert and what more you eat on a day. As kids we always had dinners with starter plus dessert and none of us was fat (although I had a hard time to digest all the food we were forced to eat on Sundays). I seldom eat a starter or dessert anymore. It's way too much food for me.

Ah, metabolism when we were children was so much higher. Children can burn calories a lot faster than adults. I love dessert so I always eat it if it is on the menu.
