It should not make a difference at all. Windows 7 Professional takes as much memory as Windows 7 Ultimate. The only real difference is that Ultimate has more functions. When you want to make Windows a bit faster you can turn off Aero and try to clean you're computer now and then a bit.

The performance wont be difference from what u see in the starter pack to the ultimate... you could yourself think is microsoft released various version saying that these ones will be slower and these faster ones.. naah... Each version is intended for a category of users. Example a home user will just use a drive and he wont have important files as such of any by default.. But a professional will use some confidential files so microsoft gives the BitLocker in higher versions so that u can lock ur drive and keep it secure.. Ultimate is like the jailbreaked IOS of iphone.. all the features will be available for you all u have to do is enable them.. But in reality you will not use those features eg do you use bit locker though u have ultimate version ?

yes, imwithimran Windows 7 supports many of the features available in Windows 7 ultimate, and also brings in extra features but the best part is the improved speed. Really No doubt, Windows 7 uses RAM more effectively and uses less space on the Read only memory(RAM) for its graphical user interface(GUI) features. The windows is also provide a new features up to date to improve the already existing applications. I really enjoy using Windows 7 professional at home and i think you should study more on windows & which is have a good security system, i mean the networking.

I personally use windows 7 Ultimate on my Laptop at home which works well so next i'll be looking for Enterprise edition

windows 7 ultimate consists of all the function of professional plus some more.. If you think the need of making it fast, then you can disable the aero effect and also some services from msconfig.. type msconfig in the start menu and you will get it.. Normally there should not be any speed difference if you have minimum of 2GB RAM..

Win 7 ultimate is far better than professional in terms of appearance and utility. It has many advanced features like bit locker for encryption and many other utility software packages. However it uses more resources for obvious reasons. But you can change appearance settings etc so as to make your system faster if you are having ram and processor less than recommended characteristics.:)

win 7 has right enough features required by an individual and requires less idle ram.. so it makes the computer faster win 7 professional - requires something like 300mb to 350mb of idle ram win 7 ultimate - requires something like 400mb to 500mb of idle ram it also has less response time compared to win 7 pro the background applications running are also to many for ultimate compared for pro

I don't know if its faster than Windows 7 Ultimate but if it does I guess it would just be a little difference. But if you want to increase your pc's speed you better switch to xp sp3. Many of my classmates told me that it is one of the best and fastest os specially if you are a gamer.
