Even after the massage, my back still aches

I finally have the time to schedule a swedish massage. The masseur told me that there was a lump at my back that I need to consult the doctor about. It was pretty scary because she said that it could be fatty build up. I feel very much refreshed after the massage. The problem is, after I went home and I lie down on our floor, the next day my back aches again as usual. By the way, I'm lying at the floor with a mattress because our air bed was already damaged. So, what I want to know is, how many sessions of swedish massage would it take to permanently take away my back pain? Does it have anything to do on where I'm sleeping? Any thoughts please?

i think you should take the advice and go see a doctor...if you think that your backpain is getting worse than normal...that might be a serious problem to be taken care of...dont just rely on some massages...the problem might be on the internal organs...though hope its not...

Well I encountered that problem before, I used to have a massage session, and just after that when I go to sleep and I wake up.. my back still hurts.. I guess its our position when were asleep or something wrong with your back actually.,Sometimes, the position when were sleeping may help us or it'll worsen the pain, so I suggest if you are used to same position change it, maybe it can help..

I would suggest going to a chriopractor and see what he says maybe a massage isnt what you need and maybe getting your back adjusted will help you. It might hurt for a couple days but then the pain might go away after getting adjusted property. The massage is a good thing after you get adjusted becasue it will help ease the pain away but might not get rid of the pain and you might be spending your money the wrong way and i suggest doing what i have said only because if might help you out in the end. I dont want to see your money being wasted on the wrong things but have a great day mylotting.

what i think is that maybe your back is not used to where you're sleeping now. and the massage could at least eased the pain by now.and maybe you should also follow what the masseur told you to consult a doctor

It depends on your back, the insure, the kind of massage and the masseur. It's not said this will help or take the pain away. Massage is just for the moment. You also have to learn how to walk, stay, sit, bend differently. No tips or that??? Perhaps you better go to the doctor first and see a physiotherapist instead.

i think if it doesnt work you can go to the doctor and have some check up there.I have not try on a swedish massage though my body used on massage when i feel pain at my back but a masage from my mom.Mostly your body well be used to someone who first massage you.It always happened because when our little ones having fever because oif falling down we go to massage, and after that they feel better.

hi stuck onu really unless a mylotter here is a doctor or orthopedist you really should see your family doctor for a check up and as for the lump of fat also check with your doctor.some of those things can be easily removed and your doctor would know if it could be surgically removed. You need to see him or her about your back. we all want to help but most of us have no real medical training.

Like some other mylotters who have responded to your discussion, I feel you need to see a doctor and soon. After you get diagnosed by the doctor, you can then decide on whether you want to do massage or see a chiropractor or both. Many years back, I went to a school and had a massage by a student. She told me that she felt there was something wrong with my spine. She was hushed up by her instructor. It would turn out that I had a slipped disc but did not yet feel pain. This was very early on. The student must have felt the bulge of the disc. If I had gone to see a doctor way back then, I might have caught my slipped disc in its early stages and saved myself some grief.

You should not rely on massage alone, you must see your doctor for some check-ups just to make sure of your health. It is better to hear the doctors opinion while you are also catered with massage as well. Prevention is better than cure.
