I find that there is little good stuff on television. Sometimes the things worth watching are not at convenient times for me. When my kids have gone to bed I can enjoy a few hours of seeing things on the Internet. I love to go on to wonderful My Lot and go to my email account. Rather than watch my television I like to see catch up TV on BBC i Player and Channel 4 on demand. Do you find television less interesting than the Internet? Why? or Why not?

I have to agree with you. There really does seem to be very little worth watching on television, these days. I'm not sure what it is, but there seems to be more interesting things to do and watch online than there is on television.

Hello dodo, but the population of TV watcher is much more than Internet surfers. I know there are college professors in our country who do not know hoe to handle a computer, let alone his/her proficiency over Internet.

I think it depends on your TV setup. Some TV's are so advanced that it's more than a computer and TV put together. My brother has his TV and computer linked together. And my one friend has a such advanced TV selection I think she has enough movies and series to last her a lifetime. Where as my TV is just the basic TV with a reasonable amount of free channels and some radio, about 20 channels and a dozen radio on my TV. Some people are even less lucky and will get maybe 3 channels. If you have a good setup your TV can be entertaining enough to keep you busy for hours and hours. However if you have very basic TV it will be so boring, me with about 20 channels sometimes there is still nothing else I want to see, so I often resort to my computer for better things to watch. I think it's all down to your setup, although I guess one could argue that a lot of the very advanced TV are that good due to the internet incorporated in them, such as TV's with skype

about the only good thing on TV is Doctor Who, and it isn't on right now! (even better to get to watch the BBC version not the one cut for U.S. commercials.)

Hi Max, Personally, I enjoy surfing the net more than watching TV, so I spend more of my "alone" time on the internet than on television. But TV time is bonding time for me and my kids, so I oblige myself to sit down with them and watch whatever they are watching(mostly cartoons and superheroes). The internet is more of an individual activity(at least for me) while watching TV is a family and social affair, and because of this, I feel that watching TV is still essential.

I have actually found television much more entertaining, and much more interesting than the internet more recently. I go to the same sites as far as the web go, but since I've gotten myself a new HD/PVR box, I've opened my TV to a lot more unfamiliar channels. And I've been able to record favorite shows so I could watch them whenever I have time.

In the past I enjoyed watching TV. But now when I have free time, I prefer to use computer. The internet is a great thing. Even if sometimes I prefer to watch the TV programs or shows from the computer rather than TV. It is much more convenient since I don't have to watch at the certain time. Besides, I don't have to suffer the commercial breaks if I watch it from the computer. I love China

That is true for me too. TV has very little interesting things on. But the internet has a world of all kinds of interesting things. Whatever we want.

Before I love television. I love to waste my time watching Television shows. But now I prefer the internet. On the Internet, there are many things that you can do, you can entertain yourself, learn, and relax, on the other hand. The Television will just gave you some entertainment.

Of course the internet is better, you can basically watch TV on the net and you can go ahead too as certain TV shows are on at specific times and dates on TV. But I still love my TV, I still watch my favorite TV shows on it rather than just watching all the episodes on the internet. I sometimes go on the internet while watching Tv too, I like having the Tv on in the background as I search the web. I enjoy it better watching my shows on the TV than on the computer. It's a better experience on the bigger screen.

My time watching television has drastically decreased over the years, mainly for the same reasons: not too many programs worth my time. The time I spend on the Internet is half and half, the first half socializing with friends, and the other half business-related. I mainly do things offline worth more of my time like creating music, writing and traveling. The only time I watch television is when I know something good I want to view is coming on at a certain time; afterwards I'll cut it off and do something else.

for me it just depends. i typically dont watch movies online so for me, the net means surfing on etsy or mylot, but i do like some shows on tv and often borrow movies and old tv show dvds from our local library, so that is what i watch on tv too.

Hi maximax, There was a time when Radio was the only medium of entertainment. After 1924 when TV was invented and gradually it became every home commodity Radio lost its popularity but now, however with FM Radio a little interest has been embedded there but TV is still there. If we compare the user of TV and the Internet we find the ration is too asymmetrical. Those like you and me have switched our interest from TV to Internet only because TV has a set program and we have nothing to control what the channels have on show but Internet has the freedom of choice and we can navigate from this end to that at our own will. Now to answer your question I must say that my TV hour is much less than Internet hour.

I think with the myriad of things you could do on the internet, the television seems to pale in comparison. I mean for me, the entertainment I derive from TV is limited to shows, movies and the news. And some of these you could also watch on the internet. So I guess the TV has become less interesting for me. But there's one thing though that I feel the internet has not yet replaced. It's the family time we have when we watch television together. But I feel this would not be for long since we now have smart TVs (TV with internet). This makes family bonding also possible when we're using the internet.

it depends on the person but for me yes I don't really watch TV unless the mythbusters or fight science is on tv :) and I learn more through the internet besides you can do a lot of things in the internet rather than just watching
