Have you ever stole something and then later regretted it?

I don't now but when I was a young teenager I did all the time. When I was growing up we were very poor so I never had nice things so me and my best friend at the time used to go up to the mall or local clothing store and steal.
This one particular time we went to the clothing store that she used to live right across the street from, and it was the same store that we stole from many times, well this time we brought another friend, and when we normally took clothing we'd go into the dressing rooms and put the articles on then our normal clothes back over them, well this new friend insisted that we just stuff them into our pockets.
We did just that but was spotted on the security cameras, and then security guard followed us out and grabbed me while my friends got away. I lied to him and explained to him that it was my very first time stealing and I would never do it again and that it were my friends who talked me into it, well they never called the cops they just let me go but my dad had to come up and pick me up.
He was so angry and I was so scared that I got caught (which was my first time getting caught) that I never stole again.
Which by the way I knew if I told on my friends that they wouldn't get into trouble and that there parents wouldn't care, I got in more trouble then they ever did.

When I was in Elementary School (I think I was about 11) I had this friend whom I thought was so rich that he often bought us ice cream and stuff. I was jealous because I couldn't buy things I wanted. My parents never gave pocket money to school so that I would eat at home. But I wasn't jealous about the food, I was jealous that he could buy nice stationary and things like that. So I started taking some money from my mom's wallet and buy pencils, key chains, and so on. I mean, if I remember about it now, I always smile and couldn't think how naive I was. :) Anyway, my mom finally found out that I took her money. And amazingly she wasn't angry. But she called me and asked me to sit by her and asked me a question that I would never forget: "Do you regret it that your parents aren't rich?" And then she explained why she never gave me pocket money and everything. She said that she would've bought me if I asked. So that's what I did even until now. And it was such a great lesson that I use in facing my students: talk and share. So far, it works very well. :)

I've never shoplifted, in my life, and I never ever will. I don't understand why people would want to do it. If one can't afford something, they really need to stay theheck out of that store. I'm glad that you regretted it, because it shows that you atleast have a conscience. I'm glad you never did it again.

yes i do remember all the times i stole and i do regret it. when i was around 8 year old i would always steal from this candy that was at the corner of my house all the time with my cousins. and then when i was a teenager i would steal like things from the dollar store. but usually when i did steal it was from stores not from people. but now that i think about it i really do regret doing that but everyone makes mistakes.
