I have just newly bought my Acer laptop and i think it has just been with me for around two weeks. It says that it has a great battery performance in its sticker but when i charge it full it says that it has only three hours battery life. Is having three hours already long enough for a laptop battery life? Or is there something wrong with my battery where i would need to change a new one to have longer hours on my laptop?
Thanks for your insights guys and happy mylotting.

your laptop battery depends on the things that you do with your laptop :) my laptop battery lasts for at least 2 hours when i'm playing games, watching movies or just listening to music. but if i just surf without listening to music or any other stuff that i mentioned before, usually my laptop battery lasts for about 4-5 hours. btw, my laptop brand is HP :)

Mine is two hours and then, after how many months of using my laptop, it takes only three minutes before it would shut down even if the battery is full charge. There is something wrong with my battery. Yours is three hours. I think that is long enough for your battery. I do not know how many hours the battery should stay in full charged. So I guess three hours is already long enough for your laptop battery.

I have had to Acers in the last 3 years and both of them were supposed to have 4 hours of battery life when they are fully charged. I am lucky if I get 45 minutes on my newest one. I guess it is because of some of the reasons you guys mentioned in your other responses. I am going to get to work and try to figure out how I can save some time. It's like my cell phone. I used to play this game on it all the time and my battery went down alot faster than if I was just texting or something like that.

I think the three hours battery life is average. I recently bought my laptop around 3 months ago and it also charges for around 3 hours before I need to put the powercord on. I think the battery life will get worse with use over time for my laptop. There isn't much that can be done about it...

I think three hours of power is already fine. Perhaps the laptop battery hasn't improved so much in these years. I have used my laptop for a few years. I am still satisfied with it. However, the battery is not good today. It will run out within 10 minutes. So I have to charge my laptop whenever I use it. This is why I think it will be great if a laptop batter can last for 3 hours.

hello,
I bought a laptop last september the brand is also ACER and yes it stated there that it has a long battery life. I power save my laptop and it last more than 8 hours. and it is really long because I can finished all the things that I have to be done. Well, the battery life is depends on the application open in your computer if you play games it wont last long. right?even you power save it. 3 hours is long and if you counted that and if it is 3 hours and up your laptop is in condition but if it doesn't last that long maybe you have that problem but make sure that you only using your laptop for browsing the net and not gaming because in this way you can detect if it is really working well. alright? good luck!

your battery has no problem, mine one is shorter life than yours. when i newly bought my laptop, it is also stand for 3 hours, but after 3 years, it only stand for 1 hour. so now i need to charge it all the time if i want to use it. so, yours one is normal i think. dont worry. happy mylotting.

Hi friend. I think that three hours life time of a laptop battery is enough. But it depends on how often you used your laptop. Acer laptops are energy saver. I hope you could enjoy your Laptop for that three hours.

I bought my Hp laptop about one and half year now and its battery last for 2-3hours when not plug in. if you want to have longer battery life, buy a higher cell of battery.

I think three hours is about average. I was just lamenting today that I wish they would make a laptop battery that would last a full day. That would be cool... you can get them that are supposed to last eight hours, I think, but they're rather expensive - a couple of hundred dollars, I think.

Your battery life does not have to necessarily be three hours battery life. It gets lower depending on what you are doing on your laptop as certain applications require more energy to run. My laptop has been with me for nearly two years and its battery has deteriorated in performance throughout. I have to keep it plugged in whenever I am using applications that require more energy. Though when I start using it, I make sure that I use it to the point wherein I am warned of low battery before plugging it again. It is healthier for the battery to allow it to be drained once in a while and then charged again. Unless your new laptop has similar battery functions with my friend's, you can keep it plugged in and it will stop charging when its full and charge again when it reaches the battery settings wherein it should start charging again.

In my Laptop my Battery only one year it's good , then i can't able to on the laptop without Powercard. Some free Advice for all Users if you use your laptop more then 10hours per day. Don't Put the Power card always plugged in it reduces the Life of the Battery.

I just got a new laptop battery recently, so the charge lasts pretty long. I'm on the computer so much though that my batteries generally only last maybe six to eight months. I need to get a new charger though because I JUST bought a new one and it already broke from not being careful enough with it. It would always get stuck between the couch cushions and tare. Luckily, my old one works if you twist it the right way.
