I have seen my neighbour having a new car similar to that owned by the neighbour next to him. My neighbours seem to compete with one another for wealth. Now just about family has a very wide tv screen. The family who has one car will buy another car when he knows his neighbour has two cars. What kind of competition is it? What about the neighbour who can not compete with the others because he simply does not have enough money to buy a car (let alone two) , a big tv screen, and expensive furniture?

We don't! People who do aren't usually happy with their own lives. They think the grass is greener on the other side. But, that isn't always the case. We do what we feel is best. If we need something new and can afford it, we get it. If not, we wait till we can. And sometimes when we can it is not something that we are interested in any longer. People who try to be like the millionaire next door just suffers large debt and is usually miserable.
Be yourself and be happier! Live your life and not someone else's!

The more we try to keep up with the joneses, the more miserable we will be. To be at the same as the others in terms of wealth, we tend to sacrifice ourselves into large debt. Luckily I am not that type of a person. Thank God.

It's human nature, we are competitive. A lot tells about their upbringing when they are young. They are the kind of people who thinks more about themselves instead of others. Some of these people compete for pride and at the end of it, they are the ones suffering when they realize they actually don't need all those material stuffs. EVen if they are that rich, they ought to know, money should be spent on thigns that are worth it, or a value, instead of something useless or extra to what they already have.

We are ignorant and beleive that is what makes us happy, In some cases, it does make people happy. People once beleived one man had the right to make all of his land poor, suffering with hunger because God had made it this way (king).Anything we have today is much better than then.

I also knew some people like these. To have these envious attitude will just ruin their life and the way of living. To compete with your neighbors pulls our mannerism away from being neighborhood into worldlyhood.
I guess, observing this kind of people gives us a lesson that we should be aware of. To fall into it, ended us sour and not sweet, bitter and not better.
Stick to what you believe the capacity of a life can give. Not the capacity of what someone or might a neighbor can take.
