Getting Referrals for Mylot and other Programs

I have seen many post from mylot members who say they would like to increase their earnings here by getting referrals but they don't know how. It's true you can only tell so many of your friends and relatives, right? After that you need to start promoting Mylot to others. The same thing applies to PTC, affiliate and multi-level marketing programs. Friends and relatives only go so far but to earn more money, you need more referrals. I was thinking how simple it really is - if you want more referrals, just get out there and promote your programs! I've looked at many programs out there that promise to help you build referrals by doing things such as swapping links, buying or renting referrals that may not be active and other methods but none of them have been the perfect system for me. I've been thinking about this since Thursday afternoon and I want to build a system for making money online but I want it to be more that just earning pennies and having to wait months just to do that. I want to see a system that allows you to start out free and build your way up to whatever amount you set as your personal goal. I had some ideas popping through my mind fast and furious and wanted to find out what others think. I envision a system that lets you start out by signing up for Mylot and a handful of PTC programs that DON'T require you to visit and click everyday because I believe that being your own boss means you can take off whenever you like to. Members can join only these programs and not have to pay anything to start earning. I see a smart amount of programs offered because I believe more time should be spent promoting the overall system than clicking links and posting all day. I'm passionate about this one because I work a full-time job and only get a few hours online each day! For those members who have a little to invest monthly without going over their budget there would be an affiliate program offering a product or service that everyone uses and is willing to pay for.earning you a monthly recurring commission. Again, I'm passionate about the "recurring" part because that means you will continue earning as long as customers continue to use the service and you decide to take a couple weeks off and go on vaction. Finally, there would be multi-level networking or affiliate program that pays you through several levels, that way you would also be earning from the efforts of your referrals as well. And again, it has to be a product or service that many will use all the time. Since no system like this exists (that I am aware of), I was thinking that I would like to create one that included all the above, plus be able to show members how and where to promote the program so they can get referrals. What do you think? Would you be interested in starting or joining such a program. If not, what would stop you?

Yes Sweetaglo, you are exactly one of the type of persons I have in mind! A lot of new moms come online because they want to be able to spend time with their babies and help subsidize their income as well. Unfortunately, by the time you get through all the false hype about getting rich overnight AND doing it with hardly any work you become disillusioned. So for you, I would have this program help you understand that success can happen but it takes work on your part. But I would emphasize patience over "hard" work. What I mean is that sure you could spend 10-12 hours online 7 days a week working to get a handful of referrals for your program weekly but why? I'd rather see you take your time and only spend a few hours a day accomplishing the same thing. You can do this while baby-boo is napping. That's what newborns do most of the day anyway, right? Programs like this do need "traffic" as you referred to. Traffic is nothing but a word that refers to visitors to your website. It's no point of having your own web site, blog or affiliate page if you don't have visitors (traffic). Without visitors you won't have referrals. Not every visitor will become a referral that's you need to continue sending new ones as often as possible. There are both paid and free methods for promoting a web site. The one thing to remember about promoting is that FREE always takes longer to get started than paid promotion. That's where the patience comes in. The short definition of an affiliate program is a system where a merchant allows you to sell his/her product or service pays you a percentage of the sale price for each sell you send their way. You don't have to pay anything to become an affiliate. This is good for people who want to earn but don't have their own product to sell. MLM a.k.a. Multi Level Marketing works very similar to affiliate programs with the difference being that you are required to buy the product yourself on a monthly basis and then recruit others to do the same thing. Since you are paying from the beginning, you're usually operating at a lost until you get more referrals and start earning a portion of what they earn (called a commission). Once you do get referrals into a program you've selected, keeping them active and motivated is the difficult part. That's mostly up to you, the sponsor, but I will try to figure out a method to accomplish that as well. Networking is just connecting to other people with similar goals and objectives as you. There are plenty of social networking sites where you can do this like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and others. Even Mylot is a good place if you don't abuse their guidelines. Well there you have it Sweetaglo! You are now that much smarter in Internet Marketing. It's really that easy and you can accomplish whatever you want with it as you learn more. Personally, when it's time for me to retire, I would like to have a full-time income coming in from my marketing efforts I put in now. I have sent you a friend request and when I do finish this project, I will definitely be asking you to be one of the first to evaluate it for me if you don't mine! Cheers, Stan

For sure Triptadasgupta! I will definitely contact you when I am ready because I will need the input from someone new at this such as yourself. Being new to looking for an income online, can you tell me what it is you would like to see, besides the honesty in marketing of course? Cheers, Stan

Sounds great! We do need new ways to earn here on MyLot. I have been trying to figure this one out myself. But, it is hard to get into generating referrals for your programs. One would have to be real computer savvy to pull off getting referrals for their programs. What I see that is lacking in this referral arena is lack of coaching from the website or person who is trying to get referrals for their programs, and keeping their referrals happy by providing support. This is the only way a successful referral program can get and keep active referrals.

Hi Sirnose! I don't think you need to be that computer savvy to succeed in getting referrals. You just need a program in place, time and patience to do it. I do agree with you about the coaching and support from the sponsor though. I have also learned that some people choose not to be coached, will not reply or followup with their sponsors and the like and then end up quitting. I still haven't figured that one out because these are usually the same people that end up calling a program a scam when they don't succeed. It is the sponsor's responsibility to keep his/her referral happy. The one thing that really annoys me is when a sponsor has discovered a good way to promote a system but doesn't share it with their referral. It's true that the more a method is used, the quicker it will get flooded and not work anymore, but so what. Go out and find another method and share it! Thank you for your feedback Sirnose! I will definitely keep everything you said in mind as I develop this program. Cheers, Stan
