I am away from my family almost 2 years now and I missed them badly. Now, I need to wait another 2 months before I see them again. My mind always in my home. I missed the foods like you especially pork, almost 2 years I didn't eat. Another thing, the care from my wife. The smile of my niece and nephews. The company with my wife and my siblings. I am very homesick right now.

They said we should not think the number of days left but I can't avoid to think everytime I took shower because another day for a hardship life away from my family. I never felt like this before. Almost finish my contract here but the homesick shaking me everyday.

I think it is more of excitement, if i may say. maybe thinking of the positive side of it will help you relieve all the tension of being home sick. And I agree with you that being far from them is such a hardship. longing is something that's killing us.

Likewise my friend. It's even good you just got 2 more months to wait. Me? still indefinite. I missed a lot of things back home and I at times find myself in tears every time i think of them.

I am away from home too. I miss my grandson. He will be two years old at the end of this month. I saw him last month after a three month absence and of course he didn't recognise me Once I had been there a week he knew who I was but unless I go back again soon he will forget yet again

Maybe constant video chat will help. My friend did that when he left his less that a year old daughter and just saw her after almost 2 years. it was awkward at first but it was managed soon.

Hi mydianait, I am in UK too. You know 3 network, they have handsets preloaded with skype without any worries that it will eat up your broadband cause it is totally free. That is what I am currently using now. Hope this helps

I am a treasure of moments collector, I have so many things photos and other things that have been given to me by special people and I love having them around me, when I am not at home I miss having them with me and of course my cat, I love my cat.

HAHA Food, yes. I have been considering a move from Colorado to Chicago and one thing that keeps coming to my mind is the food. Mexican food, for example. The kind of unwritten rule of thumb is that Mexican food made north of where you normally are used to it is never as good. I'm sure there are chain restaurants where I can find decent fare but it's going to be hard to not have the small Mom & Pop places we have around here. And fresh local fruit. There are literally hundreds of orchards and fruit farms here where I live. In the big city, that will be harder to find.

just recently i was away for 2 months... when i was about to leave, my head ached so badly, even when i was on board the plane, the pain never went out. when i reached singapore, the pain was still there. but when my mom called that night and i heard her voice, the pain vanished lol. i think thats how my body reacts when i miss my family. and that night, i couldn't sleep well, i was missing my bed hahahaha so difficult to leave home
