Or pit, whatever they're called. Are they poisonous?
Will I have to be taken to the ER?
There were so darn pits pits in this orange I was eating and it slid right down my throat, ICK. What an awful feeling, never did that before. Have you ever done something like swallow the pits or seeds of a fruit without being able to stop it? ![](/Content/images/emotes/feelingsick.gif)

I've swallowed seeds from oranges, apples, tangerines, watermelons, grapes, and others. Not harmful, might scratch your throat on the way down, or even upset the stomach a bit.
Is this your first time this has happened to you? If it is, what age group are you in? 20-30, 30-40, 40-50? For me, it was probably in grade school. So it doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Yes, this is the first time it's happened to me, never before have I swallowed an orange pit. I don't think I've even swallowed a grape or apple seed before. My age group os 40-50. The orange was just full of seeds, and so juicy so it slid right down my throat.

Nah, no way. It would be dangerous if you choke on it. Of course that will be another thing. Not to mention, didn't the seeds taste awful?
When I was young, my brother told me that swallowing watermelon seeds will grow watermelon plants inside my stomach. I totally believe him! Then one day I did swallowed one and I totally freak out! I thought I was going to die, they'll find a watermelon plant inside of me. Yeah, can't believe I fell for that. I still live to this day.

Welp, since I swallowed it whole, I really didn't taste much. I think I have accidentally bit into one but didn't swallow it, and thats when I could taste how bitter it was. Haha, your brother had the same idea as my mom, and I almost beleieved her too at fist. We are so naive when we are children, sometimes. I can laugh at it now.

Relax. Just wait for the outcome. If you die, then sure it is poisonous. If you didn't die after a while, then that see you have swallowed is definitely not poisonous! ![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

My uncle used to swallow seeds just to prove to us that it wouldnt kill us which I knew I just wouldnt want to eat them on purpose so I pick them out. No it will not kill your or hurt you just because you ate one orange seed so relax and just try not to let it happen again so you wont have to freak out :)

On purpose I wouldn't do,cause I'm not so sure they are very digestable. I have to admit, I took a vitamin pill the next day and it almost felt just like the orange seed going down my throat, ha. I'm not gonna freak out now, but it was something that crossed my mind cause I heard some seeds could kill.

I don't think the orange seeds are poisonous, but I would beware of swallowing other colours, especially white as you don't know where it's bean. ![](/Content/images/emotes/blink.gif)
