Texting is uncomfortable

I am not used to texting while the vehicle is in motion. Each time I do, I feel uncomfortable. I feel a little dizzy and nauseous. I am wondering how many of you here are like me. I see many people who are comfortable texting while the vehicle is in motion. Perhaps they are so used to it already.

I could not tell you. I do not text while driving. I need to keep my attention to the road and other drivers.

I can't text or read while a car is in motion, I get extreme motion sickness. What I believe is happening is that your eyes are seeing one thing but the balance in your ears is detecting movement and the disassociation between the two is causing your brain to get confused, leaving you feel ill. Not sure if I've explained that quite well enough for you to understand what I mean, but I hope so. With texting, as opposed to reading, your brain is putting more effort into the action than with simply reading, which could be why you feel like this whilst texting, but not reading. Simple solution - just don't text in the car :)

If texting is uncomfortable while you are in a motor vehicle, then really you are having a logical reaction and perhaps a sane one. If someone is so used to rather texting when they are driving, then they are doing it way too much and not only are they doing it, but they are putting other people in danger by their constant texting behind the wheel of the car. It is really unfortunate but I never really liked texting ever to begin with. And most certainly not behind the wheel of a car while in motion. I think that is one case where we should have our wits about ourselves, being able to really think about what we are doing. In most areas, using a cell phone while in movement for any purpose is becoming illegal as it should be. Of course, something being illegal is not going to stop people.

Hi Dolce! In my case, I can manage still to text while riding a vehicle. Actually, it's what I usually do, especially when i feel bored while travelling. However, i also understand your case. I hope you can overcome it soon. Have a good day! :-)

Hi dolce, I am somewhat used to texting while the vehicle is in motion.. In fact, I play games and visit some websites/networking sites while in the bus or taxi.. Probably because I'm already used to it... I know you'll get over the dizzy and nausea thing...

If you raise the phone up to your eye level then the discomfort will disappear. Yopu are experiencing motion sickness.

Hi! It's the same for me. Although, I would only get dizzy if I've been texting for a long while. I can't keep staring at my cellphone and reading all the small letters while the vehicle is moving. It also makes me dizzy. It's the same with reading a novel. That is why no matter how bad I want to review while I'm on the bus, I can't do it for long.

If I am on a bus that is moving a lot, I find that I feel slightly nauseas if I am looking down either reading something or returning a text. I think the brain get confused by movement I cannot see, only feel. I tend just to enjoy the ride and reply to the text after I have arrived at my destination. It doesn't happen to everybody as I know many people who read or text whilst travelling. _Derek

Well, that is a stupid thing to be doing. I can definitely understand why you feel dizzy and nauseous. Its subconcious guilt because you are doing something wrong. Its against the law to text in alot of states. It is pretty arragant to take the possible lives of other drivers into your hands. Life is too short!

I can text in a moving vehicle and am quite fast on that,LOL! What I can't do in moving vehicle is reading books or news paper or even to just look at picture in the magazine!

First, it's actually easy to text while driving if you're already memorize the keypad buttons. Lol. I have to admit that I often do it. However, it's better for us not to do any texting activities while driving as it is dangerous. Many accidents are caused by people who are texting while driving. So I think it's good for you if you feel uncomfortable in doing it.

I have two cellphone one is touch screen and the other one is just an ordinary keypad. In my ordinary keypad I do memorize the letters so it doesn't matter for me If I'm in a vehicle I can type without looking at the key pad. But in my touch screen phone I can't use it while on a vehicle, I sometimes feel dizzy also like you. Maybe the problem is my eyes I need to wear an eyeglass.

i learn how to multitask since i got a job when it comes to doing something while trying to send a text message. Im not allowed to use my phone during working hours so i do it during my lunch. I walk and text, i eat and stop for a moment then send a text. I sometimes do it while goin up/down the stairs too. Its easier when u already memorize the keypad.

You are like me. I can not read nor write on a moving car. I soon get dizzy and feel like vomiting as well. Many others perhaps feel the same.

Wah, I, too, get dizzy when I do something similar to reading when in a moving vehicle. I don't know why. 'Cause as I remember from my childhood days, I didn't have a problem with that. It's a little puzzling. My bro doesn't have a problem with it. So, is this some kind of health thing? -_-;
