Disagreement in my lot discussions can cause low rating.

Actually it is inappropriate to use negative rate that way. But still, some people tend to misuse it as "dislike button". We can't do much about it. If you want to keep your rate good as it is, it's better not showing any strong disagreement. If you are disagree with something, it's better to skip that discussion and go on to the next.. xD

I do not use to rate somebody bad. That is hard to decide which post seems to be bad. If I see a good one, I rate it but I do not think that there is a really bad post, because every person has own opinion so I do not want to be a jugde.

Since beginning I joined Mylot, I never rated someone negative. I always rated positive for all discussions I involve, and only ignore the discussion that I can not respond. Hope this share with you. Best wishes,

Mylot is a discussion site and its obvious not two person think the same there are many argument disagreement and what not going on here but its on us the mylotter to understand that its there views and we should not get disappointed by it if they don't agree with us

Just because someone disagrees with me, I refuse to rate the person negatively. That's just plain mean. And vengeful. I know it's been done to me, but I refuse to stoop to that level. I will only, only give a negative if it's something I would report to myLot as being against their terms and conditions regarding posting and comments. Such as blatant racism, or out and out nastiness. One can disagree without being nasty, without insulting another, without name calling.

I agree on you. Responding is not so easy. Sometimes you look up to your dictionary to give a nice statement, but to others it is not good. You are reported abuse. That life. We can not please all the people even your friends. So we just make all we understand and let them what they want to our respond or discussion. But remember always my friend if you can not understand in response or discussion but it is heartily done with all the efforts to gain and to earn.

hi Befriendwithme26 But that is not o kay check the guidelines in where the admins says no it is wrong to minus someone who does not agree with you or whom you do not agree. only do this if the response does not further the discussion or if its insulting or flaming.We are not to hit minus simply because we do not like the post or the poster. this is Facebook mentality and does not work in mylot. We are rating posts not personalities.WE should not be minusing someone because we do not like their post or we do not like them actually. that is wrong against mylot guidelines.So no its not okay .We should all be aware we are not giving votes for most popular in rating wed are rating strictly the written post. The name or personality of the poster is not relevant at all.My thoughts are that any mylotter rating the person on liking him or her or not liking is doing wrong and should stop this at once. I very rarely ever rate anyone negative. if the post is flaming or insulting or does not help the discussion I just report it to mylot admins and let them decide.

hi befrind really does anyone anymore ever read the g uidelines? at all , ever? in the gu idelines it states no it not right tp ise the minus key when you do not agree with the poster, we are not r ating the poster but t he post, do not hit minus unless somone is flaming or being insulting.so you are wrong those all are not reasons to minus anyone, that is just being mean and trolling. the one who does that a lot mylot admins says it will hurt their own rating.It is not I repeat NOT OKAYcontact mylot if you think this is being done to uou as it is NOT OKAY.

Yes. I agree that other members gave us negative ratings, others give positive. Though myLot encourages us to not use the negative rating as much as possible, this is not a requirement. We have the right to choose the rating that we want to give to each member who responds to our discussions or to others as well. In my case, I am proud to say that I can still keep my promise until now. I am not giving any negative rating no matter what.

Hello Befrindwithme, When i joined Mylot i was worried for my reputation here but not now as i know that it is not in my control it depends on others how they rate me.What is in my control is to write quality content to get as much as +ve ratings from others and that's what i always try to do.Yes some people really play with the DRS system and do rate people just they don't like response/discussion but they nust understand it that rating should not be done on the basis of liking or disliking. Hope people will get mature enough and understand it how to use DRS system.as that will make this place much better.
