As I was walking one time downtown, Isaw this homeless man sleeping unmindful of the cold weather.
It almost shake me because I was thinking of my warm bed as I was walking when I accidentally saw this man.
The cold wind might have trigger the thought of the bed.
This scenario is not new in my city but I pity those who just sleep on the street with pieces of cardboard.

It is very sad to see these people and how they suffer and struggle. Not knowing what to do or if they can get help,or if they can find shelter. Here in the USA we see it too but we have to often wonder how poor they really are. A newsanchor did a documentary showing himself ona street corner dressed in rags and begging, he got much, which is good, but then again we have to wonder who begs and has money and who truly needs it?

Cowgirl, you are right.
In my country some individuals post as beggars but in reality they are not.
This makes the geniune beggar suffer more.
I cannot just imagine why other people are doing that for the sake to collect.
adhyz, working hard is really the answer to poverty.
however, at times we are not given the same opportunity.

I live in America and see homeless people all the time in the big cities. It is a shame that this country can't do something to help these poor people. I have been homeless and think it is a shame that more people don't help making shelters more available. Providing jobs for these people so they can get back their self respect. Not everyone that is homeless want to be homeless. I know I didn't want to become homeless at the time in my life that I was homeless. Thank God there was a kindly woman that helped me get off the streets!

Great! you were able to get back to a normal life.
Kudos to you!
That is the problem with the government anywhere in the world!
It seems they just shake their shoulders if they see homeless people.
In my country, some homeless are selected for a shelter if their are shelters built for them.
But with the many homeless a few are actually given homes.
and the help stops there.
This makes the homeless incapacitated and go back to the street.

At times, looking at homeless people make us aware that we are more blessed with good things.
Fortunate enough to eat what we like, to sleep on comfortable bed especially during extreme weather, and to almost do whatever we please.
I also pity them but the sad thing is that I cannot do good things for except to give alms at times.

Seeing homeless people can make you realize how lucky you are that you have a place to call home. I always feel lucky, when walking by homeless people. I also feel kind of sorry for them as well. I just feel bad that they don't really have anywhere to go, or call home, and such.

I agree with you.
Although, I there are times I have financila problems, I am still thankful of where I am now.
I came to realize, I am still lucky to eat more than 3 times a day and sleep on a com fortable bed rain or shine.
Everday I thank God for all those blessings I recieve !

This is also common in our country.
Street children and homeless people sleeping on the streets with just cardboard or dirty linen that seems not been washed for a decade.
I also feel pity- and sometimes blame the government of myself (if only I could do something for them)
Although I know I am doing my part as human being- but it's not enough due to limited resources and financial unstability as well.

Yeah, in my city, there are only a handful who are sleeping along the street with the same cardboard and linens.
Some are observed to having problems in their psyche.
Some are barely homeless.
Others are pretenders.
If it rains, they just move underneath the bridges.
it is really sad to see them around with extreme weather.

It is horrible to think about what life would be like if you had no home, but it is something that people have to deal with these days because nobody has enough money to buy their own house and if they don't manage to get a job then this means that they will be on the streets with nobody there to help them. Whenever I see anybody on the street I will give them a hot drink and some food. I will never give them any money because you don't know what they're going to spend it on, and I would much prefer to give them something that I know for sure is going to help them.

I also pity those homeless people especially the one who are already old then nobody even bother to give them some food, clothes, or little amount of money. But nowadays just in our country it is becoming modus operandi at times. Dangerous in the sense that those beggars are having it's own tactics for them to earn money or get it from other people.

Yes, it's pity for them.
But sometime I myself feel can't do anything about them. Sometimes I can't help that if i take them to my own home, they will do bad things. Of course, not all of them would do that. But still, can't keep those bad things out of my mind

Thats also makes me think how much better life i have compared to those homeless people. Well its kinda make me sad too because there are nothings i can do to help them except i pray that they will get a better life someday.
