I knit. I taught myself back in the summer of 2004 (I think) because I was bored. Last summer I taught myself to crochet which I like better because things go faster. Right now I am working on a knit sweater for my baby girl. It is going good and is looking really cute.

I usually pick up those free patterns at the store and the cheap little ones that have a couple patterns in them (that is the kind I am working from now). I also check the internet if I need something new. That is how I found a ton of crochet patterns I used. The books are so expensive but I did buy one on sale because it had some really cute baby and toddler stuff to crochet.
A couple weeks ago I made the baby a little hat with ear flaps and a poncho. I need to start checking my gauge better, though because everything turns out too small, lol. But that is okay, I just make the bigger pattern then and it usually works out (I know crazy). I also convert my patterns to use other sized yarns because I don't like the colors that the "baby" yarns come in at the store. I don't have the money to order the nice stuff so I have to work with what I can get cheap at Wal-mart and Joann's.

it's really good to know that you take lots of pain to follow your hobby.. you are right, with me also its always like i have to knit the pattern according to my requirement coz these ppl have grouped every sized toddler in one group..
and as far as colour is concerned, it should always be a personal choice.. coz pink makes me feel happy and at the same time it might not look very inviting.. means one colour can be liked by one and at the same time disliked by other person..
and i must congratulate you for being an efficient home manager.

ya i've seen that with some people print works better... but its just a matter of finding the right site and you can find amazing stuff for free on the net aswell.. all these yarn companies have a free newsletter and they send good patterns and pattern notes absolutely free to your email..
thanx for your response.

Yes, I like knitting. I knit all kinds of projects including hats, socks, sweaters, shawls and bags.
I get many of the patterns that I use on the Internet. One of my favorite sites for free knitting patterns is: knitty.com. Another good online knitting magazine is: magknits.com

I like to knit, but I'm not very good at it. I just taught myself how to knit last winter. I do use the internet periodically to find patterns. It's the best place to find them.

I love to knit, though I am definitely still a beginner. I like to knit hats, mittens, gloves and fingerless gloves, scarves, toys, and simple sweaters... usually tank sweaters.
More often than not, I learn how to do a project by reading a few patterns online, figuring out the basics of the project that make it what it is, then writing my own pattern with the specifics of what I'm looking for in a project. I sell a lot of my items, so if I do a project from someone else's pattern, I either have to keep it for myself or give it to someone as a gift.

I enjoy knitting. I have knitted hats and scarfs. I like to knit to relax, so i only knit easy, mindless stuff. I keep the complex patterns for crocheting. I like to look up knitting patterns and ask for help in KnittingHelp.com they have videos of knitting stitches and the forum is great! The ladies in that forum share patterns and offer advice. It's really neat.

I like knitting, but I'm not good at it.
I knit too tightly, and every stitch is a struggle.
I recently was given some big needles to use for practicing, so I hope that helps.

I do some knitting, usually jumpers for myself or my family. I've never used an internet site for patterns but I have found the old patterns I kept have keep coming back in to fashion. My daughters get annoyed when I go shopping with them and say, 'I've got the pattern for that, is it back in fashion again?'

ha ha ha... same here but the diff is i still dont have children who'll get annoyed with me on my behaviour.. i usually go out with my mom and she has more patterns than me lol... [;)]
the things which have been out of fashion for some time do keep returning.. as people tend to forget them and the new generation adores them when they see it..
Thanx a lot for your response.

I knit mostly hats and scarves (you can see some of them at www.sweetdesigninc.com). It is kind of addictive!

small projects like hats and scarves are really addictive due to their relatively shorter making time..and they give you full creative satisfaction as there can be loads of variations to them..
sorry but the page you have given can not be viewed right now.. maybe some time later..
thanx for your response.
