I never knew how much I relied on the internet until last evening.
Payments towards my internet service was late this month because of my temporary lack of immediate finances and as result my account was suspended. Well all I had to do was inform the telecommunications company about my payment and the account would be instantly re-activated.
Well, when all was said and done, I didn't have access to the net until this morning, due to some technical difficulty being experienced by the service provider.
During my "deprivation of the net" period it dawned on me how much I relied on the net.
I have a television, radio, dvds and books to "keep me company" but I was feeling as though something was missing, because to begin with I was deprived of my normal dosage of mylot, lolll.
I don't have any use for cable and that's because if I want to watch any movies, or tv shows I normally view them via the internet.
To research general information I use the internet. I was like a fish out of water for that 8 hours, and I became resolved that I needed to make provisions and must make every effort to have my internet bill paid on time.
Hmmm, to think the internet had become such an integral part of our lives, well at least mine, had me really dumbfounded for a brief moment last evening. Who would've thunk it?? (play on the word, of course the correct word is think) lolll

When I am at home I use the internet every day, and I really miss it when I am not able to spend some time online every day. Some time ago my old laptop broke down and I wasn't able to use the internet for some weeks. That really made me realize how much I actually use the internet on a normal day: I read and write emails, I look for information, update my online gallery and lots of other things. Lots of times I thought:"I need some information about that topic, I will look it up online. Oh, I can't do that" I kept forgetting that I didn't have access to the source of information that I was so used to
On the other hand when I travel I hardly ever use the internet. I might visit an internet cafe if I need to find a timetable or a hotel room, but I just stay for ten minutes and then I leave. I don't want to spend much time on the internet when I am travelling, because there are too many exciting things to explore outside the internet cafe.

ok I hear that, thankfully though I use a modem for my connection so my internet goes with me where ever I go, and that includes foreign travels :)

Ha ha, good discussion. I am not consistent enough with the internet that I would start going crazy without it. Well, no, scratch that, I love the internet - I went without it for 6 months though and I was starting to go a little crazy. But I did find other things to do with my time, like read, do housework, etc. And when I got really desperate to use it, I would go to my mom's house or to the library to get online.

Hi Success,
I would go crazy too if I don't have internet connection for that long. Internet is so much a part of my life, I guess this is true for most of us. Just like you, I do have other things to keep myself entertained like the tv, books, radio and the likes, but having no internet will surely crash my day. From among my bills, payment for the electricity and the internet service are always the first on my list to be paid...Nice discussion

This had came across my mind too. These days we really are too rely on internet. I live my daily lives with internet access. I serve the net for entertainment, gaming, information, assignments, bills, money making and many more. It would really troubles me if I had not been able to online. A bad thing it is to be depending on internet so much. It is also bad for our health too.

Yes agree.Sometimes this is the problems of us especially when we are working online and the connection is very low.
And i don't like sometimes but i have to accept the truth and can't control the situation.
