St Patricks day.
The 17th of March.
Tomorrow.
And usually on a holiday like that, we either get that day off, or the following Monday if it falls on a weekend. It’s what is known, in the UK at least, as a ‘Bank Holiday’..
Of course my work doesn’t honour this.. nope. We are not a bank, I’m told. So we don’t get it off.. but a lot of people do. But in the same turn, a lot of people don’t.
It’s strange though, because I’m from Northern Ireland, and you’d think with St Patrick being the patron saint of Ireland, we’d get that day off? Especially whenever the 12th of July is a public holiday over here. If you don’t know what the 12th of July is, I would google it.
But an interesting article was on the BBC News website, that could mean St Patrick’s day is going to be a public holiday after all!
Read it here.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-17399546
What do you think of this?

We don't get St George's Day off either, not that I am in favour of Saints Days as I am a heathen. lol Plus St George wasn't even English so I don't see the association. However, I am in favour of more public holidays. We are getting an extra one for the Queen's jubilee, and although I am a republican, I am taking it if offered. I have no shame.
