Hi there guys, My goodness what a workout, i probably burned 200 calories, we kinda run out of water and the water is on the first floor, i had to get it and bring it back to the fourth floor by just using the stairs good thing i always have a towel handy and anyway i liked the work out, especially the part that i really look macho for being able to carry it. That is just sad.

Great that it is now part of your workout, at least it is free and you are helping your family. We could already feel the summer and one of the problem we always encounter is water shortage. I am expecting to do my laundry during night time because of water shortage. I hope that it would not be that bad!

Hey there r3corp, Yess i hope that it will not be that bad in your case, well i am loving the workout and i just think that i can use this a regimen lifting heavy water and walking around because it would be dangerous to always use the stairs right anyway thanks for the comment i really appreciate it. Take care now.

Nice! this is a great workout. Each gallon of water weighs 8.35 lbs and carrying it up and down stairs is an awesome full body workout. It only makes you look macho if you are carrying 6 gallons, but you gotta have big hands to carry it.

Hey there ms Kelly ryan, Its in a gallon container, i can carry 4 gallons more, it just that there were only one container left, well the girls seemed that it is macho since most of the other guys here are either lazy or just plain would rather other people do it. Anyway thanks for the comment MsRyan.

I just read that 4 gallons is 15.1415...liters. It weights like 15.1416 kilograms. If you lift it up 4 floors it is very hard , you hold the botles and it can put a lot of pressure on your blood flow in the hand. how many stairs did you just climb and what is the height of each and every one of the stairs ? I guess it was very hard. Let's say your weight is 60 kilograms , you add it another 15.1416 ... and you multiply it by the height that you have climbed. let's say it was 13 meters , the total work that you did was 75 multiplied by 9.8 multiplied by 12. it comes out to 9574.31...jouls = 2287.33 calories. That's the theory , I don't know how much it was in practice. how did you get to only 200 calories ? The formula I used was mgh where m=mass , g=9.8 , h=height you get a result that is the amount of jouls. convert jouls to calories.

hi there stringer 321, I didn't actually compute the whole thing am not a math guy, anyway this is very helpful because i only rely on the online calorie calculator and it said climbing up 4 stairs for my weight 185lbs would lead to 130 calories burned so i just estimated maybe with four gallons it would add a little more calories. I climbed 4 stairs and the height of each floor most likely be 3 1/2 meters yeah it kinda high. I'll use your computation if you are saying it like that i guess ill try to carry everyday if it burns that much calories.

If something weights x kilograms and is being lifted to the height h , and the constant of gravity is g=9.8 , the energy that is being used to lift that weight is xhg. the result comes out measured by jouls. Maybe , you also will have to ask a professional about the calories calculation. tell him that a simple calculation shows so many calories being burned so how can it be ?
