Jesus was gay...

I was going to put this in "religion" but thought that a little dangerous so, hopefully, being in "humour", people will realise that it is in jest. So, I was having a philosophical debate with some people this evening. I'm not sure how it all started but, anyway, we got on to whether Jesus was married, whether he had children, etc. and came to the conclusion that, being a 30 year old Jew, not being a husband or a father would have been rather unusual at the time. So, on this basis, we concluded that he was gay. What do you think about that then? Just to clarify: This is JUST A BIT OF FUN so n need for any nasty religion/anti-religion talk. That's why it's here and not there. Cheers x Pumpkinjam x

Yes, there is no real proof he even ever really existed. Sounds like a good way to "shoot the breeze with friends". Good luck with this one! People are very sensitive about a lot of things.

I agree with that. There is no real proof. Even though people try to offer various "proofs". The debate also led us to the conclusion that the "Illuminati" were people from Blackpool (which, for anyone who doesn't know, is a town in England which is famous for its "illuminations")

I love the Illuminato conclusion.

No I don't think so Jesus was not married and did not have any children because He is so busy preaching and helping others as His Father intended for Him to do. So He does not have a lot of time to have any relationship with a woman. Because basically Jesus is already married to us-the people He needs to save from Sin, and if you check in the bible Jesus always, always travel, transferring from one place to another checking which place needs help specially in the spiritual aspect of life. that is my stand.

Thank you. That makes sense of course. Though I guess you realise that the discussion is not meant to be serious. :-)

I am open minded..to humour..so i won't take this as offensive. i have heard about stories about him and Mary Magdalene.. but i know if some of my friends and family read this i bet they will turn their wrath on you..Jesus and gay should not be in the same sentence for them.

Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you understand the humour an do not take offense. There are stories about Mary magdalene. I think I said before that the stories depend on what you read/believe.

well if i would dis agree and would not understand all its humour then we would be arguing till now I have read some controversial stuff starting Dan brown's novels lol.. as i was never open to these kind of stuff before as my parents were purely catholic and close minded. But since that, i read and searched and i am open to such possibilities..after all He was human right?

Well with today's standards if a guy would walk around with 12 guys here, there and from town to town he might be considered as one. Though now that I think of it they might think it is a football club (starting line-up plus 2 sustitutes :P)

I thought he got it on with Mary Magdalene? Or so I read somewhere. IMO he certainly appeared gay, but it could all have been an act to get the chicks interested in his philosophical ways.

Not with me, I am an atheist. I have read the bible and it's very interesting, but I prefer Dan Brown's version of events. Even if he wasn't gay, his followers must have been, or at least some of them. Who could have such blind faith without a little extra urge to please their master?

heheh mmh it sounds a little bit strong as statement don't you think?...so logically if somebody won't marry in his/her life in my opinion it is not authomatic thinking that he/she is gay!!I think nowadays many people never marry for different reasons but it doesn't mean that is gay as well..so it cames a strange theory in my opinion...

I did point out that this was in jest. It doesn't really have anything to do with logic or opinion! We were just considering the fact that, at the time, it would have been seen as strange for a 30 year old Jewish man to not be married. Not meant to be serious. That's why it's under the "humour" heading. Thanks for you response anyway.

I'm 34, and I'm not a husband or father, and nor am I gay. I think you are wrong. That's my take on it.
