Yep! I'm actually planning to submit my requirements after our graduation this end of march, hopefully I will pass the exam so that my 500 fee will not be wasted. :-D 500 pesos is a large amount already, right?
An yes, I heard many also failed because they said its hard. And I can feel it too! A review might be helpful to both of us. This time, I wish you pass the exam and so does I too coz it will be my first time! Good luck to both of us! :-) Happy reviewing!

I was in nearing my graduation in college when i took the sub-professional civil service exam.
It was an easy exam, because i prepared for it by reading and solving the books for it, that my father bought for me. I got a 95% for it.
I was in my first year of office work, when i took my professional civil service exam and that too, was easy. Of course, i again reviewed. That too, gave me 96% .
But what i can just humbly say, is that because i am a wide reader , i learned a lot of words which i would always look up in the dictionary and that proved helpful in those exams.

That's correct Arianne. And it is also good that we take time to review thru some reviewers that we can buy cheaply.

Yes, I've taken the professional level and passed it. I didn't take the sub-prof because when I was still in college working in the government didn't appeal to me. I took the prof when I was already working, thinking that passing the exam would give me more options in terms of career-pathing. Still, I never got to work in the gov't. sector.

Yes, I am lucky for passing both the sub professional and the professional civil service examinations. When I took the exams, most of the questions were regarding the Philippine constitution. Fortunately, I remembered most of what I have learned so I was able to answer correctly. Right after I received the passing grade which was sent through mail, I immediately applied for a government position and was hired. During my employment I came to know that majority of the employees have not passed the civil service and are in fear of their jobs. I did not stay long in the government because I did not like the kind of environment in the workplace. I think there are reviewers for the civil service examinations. Trying accessing some so that you will pass the exams. Good luck.

I passed the professional level in the Nov. 2008 examination, but with a rating of barely 80.01%. I plunked the math (77%), but my scores in verbal and analytical parts of the exam made up for the deficiency.
Now, even if I have already passed the higher level (professional), I'm still planning to take the exam for the lower level (sub-professional). Just for the fun of it.
