Eating using hand or spoon?

Eat is one of human basic need beside drink and breathing. And there are two ways to eat food, using hand and using spoon. Some peoples prefer using hand because its more simple and easy to eat food other than using spoon, and some peoples prefer using spoon because they think its more higienis and not make their hand dirty. I personally prefer using hand. How about you? Which one do you prefer?

Well it depends on the food that you are eating. Certainly, using the hand to eat the soup will not be practical at all. Also, eating by hand is more reasonable when eating finger foods like chicken, barbecue and crabs. Also, the choice can be affected depending on the occasion. For formal dinners and the like, eating by hand will be inappropriate and unethical. During picnics, eating by hand would surely be preferred. As for me, when the environment is just casual, I will use both spoon and hand. I use the spoon for those soupy viands and use my hands for the other types.

It would depend on the food that I will eat and where I am currently eating. If my food has soup in it, then I have to really use spoon, if not, then I can use my hands but better using the spoon though because we just don't know what bacteria our hands have even after washing. I prefer to eat using my hand only when I am at home.

It all depends on what we're eating. If it's just finger food then I can eat with hands. But if it's rice or pasta, I have to use spoon and fork. In the province, my relatives eat rice with hands. I usually imitate them when I was a kid, and it was really fun even though I really don't know how to eat rice properly with hands. I think it's a really fun experience.

It really depends on what I eat- some food a re meant to be eaten using hand since it is hard to eat them using just spoon and fork. But i usually use spoon and fork since it's tiring to wash my hand before and after eating...

HI there! I prefer to use my right hand instead of using spoon and fork. But it depends on occasions. If they allowed me to use my hand I will do so. Otherwise it is okay to use the spoon, fork, chopstick etc~ For those who are not used eating with hand they will find it mess, but it is not...it is our own hands so why should afraid of them?? But make sure they wash their hands before they eat!(^^)

Um, I use spoon to eat foods. So, seldom I use my hand to eat dry food. Some people say that your nerve fibres will get better if you eat by your hand. Well, I guess you must be healthy man. Best wishes

I usually use my hand to eat. Sometimes I prefer spoon. When I eat omelet I use spoon, but when I eat meat I use hand. It is easy to separate bones from meat by hand. So it depends on the food item. In my country people generally eat by using hand.

I am from a country where most people use knife and fork all the time. Most people even eat pizza with a knife and fork. I eat pizza with my hands, but people usually look at me like I have no manners I think it is much easier to eat pizza with my hands and prefer it that way. Open sandwiches are very popular in my country and people eat them with knife and fork. I eat them with my hands if I can. Sometimes it is easier to use a knife and a fork so that your hands don't get dirty, but I only do that if is hard to eat them with my hands or if I am at a party. When I eat other things like meat, potaotes, vegetables or rice I eat with a knife and fork.

That is cultural and there are more than two ways. Chnese and other people don´t use their hands nor the western spoon, fork and knife. I can only eat with spoons, forks and knives as I´m too clumsy to use other means. I would definitly not like to use my hands.

It depends on the occasion and on the food I eat. If it the food comes with soup then i prefer to use hands since i can pour the soup on the rice and scoop it with my hand. I don't think hygiene has something to do with it as long as you wash your hands before you eat.

It really depends on the food we're talking about. Pizza is not intended to be eaten with forks and knives, unless you're in e very elegant place. The same for tacos. The otther way, if the food is actually intended to be eaten using a spoon, then it would be certainly gross to eat it using yor hands in front of all.

Well it depends on the food. Normally I use spoon on regular basis like regular gatherings, parties and the like. And also when meals involve soups. I love to eat with my hands during beach and outings. You can taste the food well when using your hands. When meals involve fish and crabs and shrimps, it's more sumptuous to eat with your hands In our country, Philippines, using your hand is one of our customs. We don't bother being "dirty" because we enjoy the food more. It's not that unhygienic, it is part of our culture and for us it is fine that way.

Here in my country most typical Filipinos we enjoyed using our hands while eating specially if we are complete in the family together with chatting, that's the way we can express our bonding with our family. Me I used my hands depends on the food, I eat chicken with my hands because it is hard to separate the meat form the bone using the fork if the food is dry I normally used my hands, but if it has a sauce or soup I used spoon and fork.

In my country most people use their hands while eating and i was no exception,However due to some health problems i nowadays use a spoon and also my hand to eat food. Of course ultimately whether you use a knife and fork or a spoon you still have to use your hand, isn`t it?

I like eating using spoon but sometimes, I also eat using my hands. When I am with my family and we are eating rice and some dishes that are place on banana leaf, I prefer to eat with my hands. It seems better to eat using my hands. However, when I am in front of my colleagues or other acquaintance, I prefer to use spoon. It is believed that it is ethical to use a spoon when eating. I am unsure if Filipinos are the only people who can eat their food using their hands.

For finger foods I prefer to eat by using hands but use spoon when in restaurant and other food chain outside the home. At home, I love to eat by using hands especially when there are fingers foods served.

For me it depends on what type of food to eat and where to eat? if your going to eat in a class restaurant of course you really need to use a spoon but if your just in your home and your food is shrimp, crabs or anything, then its best to eat using a hand only so you could enjoy the food ;-)
