I have read articles about salt solution can remove oil and dirt on your face. Well I think it is effective. I do not wash my face with soap, or facial wash anymore. I have a plastic bottle with 50 ml. of distilled water and I mix it with 1 teaspoon of rock salt, I will shake it well until the all the salt are dissolved. I put a few drops of the salt solution in a cotton ball. Then I use it to clean my face everyday and before I sleep. My face becomes whiter and blackheads and whiteheads are always remove.

Thank you for sharing this!
I used to wash my face with salt and water, and it really helped with my acne. It took a while to start working, but i had good results from it.
Now that I don't have acne I use a mild cleanser, but I have to say the salt was better! I think I better switch back to it, because it left my skin soft and hydrated too, I didn't even need to use cream.

Do you put salt in water until it dissolves? Or is it undissolved? If undissolved isn't it harsh on the skin? Doesn't the salt scrub the face, does it not hurt or feel like it's scratching the skin?

Well, I haven't tried that one yet. Don't think I've heard of it before now, but maybe I have because I've heard so many "great treatments" they all tend to run together at times. Were you just dealing with blackheads and whitehead or did you have papules and pustules to deal with as well? Where did you first hear of salt solutions working to get rid of blackheads? Why is it supposed to be effective?

may i ask where did you read this article? i have a sensitive skin right now since i was diagnosed with nummular eczema last year it left me only using cetaphil for my face and ivory soap for my body since i'm very sensitive even to slightly scented soaps that are in the market. i'd like to try this solution since i'm having a lot of breakouts recently. didn't you breakout the first time you used it. thanks for this informative discussion. i'll try this later. hope it helps my sensitive skin.

No offence but I just have few enquiries here: You think salt water for acne is effective, can I know how long to see the result? Does it comes with any side effects? I read this before and it said salt can dry the skin, and leave the skin grimy and chalky. Is this true? I'm not sure and I wouldn't dare to try it.

The idea here is you avoid using chemicals that are harmful to our skin when you use the salt and water solution. This is a natural and cheap solution that can replace all facial cleanser available in the market. I can say that this is effective to me. My skin is very oily, the salt solution can remove excess oil and dirt. So far I do not encounter allergic reactions, I think because it does not have any harmful chemicals.

Wow, that is good reading. I love hearing about natural and simple remedies for anything. I like to share the ones I have found when I remember to. I will share this one too if the time ever comes. I do not want whiter skin though. Do you mean cleaner? I don't want to lighten the skin.

This natural and simple remedy is very effective, I can see all the dirt and oil from my face in the cotton that I use in cleaning my face. There is no allergic reaction and very affordable. I have tried to use costly facial products but this one is the best.

Wow, this is a new one, and I can't wait to get home to try it out as I have oily skin and I'd do what it takes to deal with the oil. So far I've spent a lot on good products, which works but I wouldn't mind using a more affordable equally effective way.
Thanks.

But what do you mean, distiller water? Do you buy still water from the supermarket or you distill it yourself? How? You boil it?

Really? I've never heard of using a diluted salt mixture to keep your face clean. That's interesting I'll have to look into that.

Oh . Thanks for the information. Maybe i should try this one. I have blackheads and acne on my face since i was in high school, and still it occurs now i am in college. I am using facial wash to try to lessen it, and it helps but not it totally removes. However, i must try to have research on it first before trying to make sure it can not cause allergic reactions to my skin.
