define a simple life

many people are mistaken when they say they want a simple life and their picture of it is a place to live in and nothing else. my definition of a simple life is a comfortable one with the ability to get what i want when i want or need it. and that's why i work and not just squander my money foolishly. the things that make me happiest the most are the things that barely cost a thing. my example of simple is: when i need to go somewhere i can choose to either drive, ride a bus or get a plane. not get stuck on just one option. so make your life simple by giving yourself the best options to choose from. what's your definition of a simple life?

I definitively agree with you. C. Lewis once said: "For those who cannot find the sense of life, just find those you love to be with and that you love to do and you are done, promise" Well, it's not exactly that way, but that is the idea.

Dear Chipesterkhan, I love the topic of discussion to define a simple life. Currently, I am in transition to having a simple life. I resigned from a Fortune 500 company and enrolled in school to obtain an educational degree. I very much enjoy reading and writing, especially now so much can be accomplished on the internet. My simple life includes my home and slowly but surely fixing it up to be a comfortable place for me and my dog to live. Eventually, I want a human companion to share my simple life with. Until the human companion presents himself I know what I do not want, no passive aggressive behavior from anyone, no politics which is why I resigned from the fortune 500 company and no drama. I live life on my terms and I do what is necessary to keep living life on my terms and by my design. Live Free!

Simple life is having enough food, enough clothes and a roof over you. Most importanly, you must be able to sleep peacefully. Those who lead simple life sleep better than others. They are free of stress. Travel by bus, drive or fly to destination: A simple person will choose the cheapest option.

we all have different of simple. some people say simple is beautiful and some say simple is cheap. for me when you are satisfied of what you have and appreciates it then that is simple. i still am renting, we dont have our own house but still i can say we are living in a simple way. with our simple needs. we also have an owner type jeep a simple one. i still have a lot in my mind to invest on a simple house where we three can live a simple life and i am still in the process of saving. i still ride the bus and train. enjoy doing that. my wife also travels by train or bus or jeep. when we go out with our son that is only the time that i bring the jeep. if i alone i bring my bike or just comute.

I think simple means uncluttered. A person with a simple life is one that doesn't have a bunch of stuff. The basics. Spending money foolishly is not living simply. SOmetimes I do like to treat myself and I do spend alittle extra but I don't spend alot. I do want more than just a place to live though.

A time comes in everyones life when they have achieved all that they wanted, done whatever they wanted to do,seen whatever they wanted and are now totally contented. It is at such a time that one starts leading a simple life. One does not hanker for anything and life becomes uncomplicated. The simplest things in life become pleasurable, a stroll in the park or at the seaside, watching the sunset or a rainbow, playing with one grandchildren and so on.Being with ones loved ones or with ones friends and relatives, reading a book, listening to music, all such activities are a part of a simple life.

My definition of simple life is being out of the system that binds most people to the fate of wishing for their system to become better or to have work or to have a better economy. It means being able to live my dreams--for short in luxury. I will be the master of my time; I can buy whatever it is I want to buy; I can provide whatever it is what others need of me yet I have the time to relax and enjoy my life--not waste it in working being scolded by a boss. Other than what others view as laziness--but with money--I don't think it'll be a life worth living or even simple for me. I don't want to live in a complicated life where I have financial problems plus family problems plus work problems gnawing at my trail. Have a nice day and Happy MyLotting!

wow, what you have mentioned friend is not simple. If one can afford to go in a plane or for that matter change the mode from plane to ship to helicopter as a choice then thats not simple . simple would be to not have so many demands or wishes and lead a life which meets only the basics. for many simple life is to live comfortably and luxury would be to change the style of living often....:)

that's not a simple life friend. that's a life of poverty. if you do not have many options you will end up hating your life. a simple life is a life where you have lots of options to take and choose whichever one you want to take

My definition of a simple life is having a family, friends, a home and a stable job. There is more in less. If you live life simply you will be able to spend more time with the people whom you care and the people who cares for you. Having all the things we want in life is not an assurance that we will be happy. But not expecting too much can help create a good ambiance for your peace of mind and others.

My definition of a simple life is having all I need while living within my means without complications like loans and credit card debts. Not having to struggle through life by living beyond my means; enjoying the simple pleasures of life like going for a swim in the river without having to pay an arm and a leg for it. I want a life without stress and full of joy.

a simple life is one where there is some routine, but not so much that it becomes old. a place to live, food in the fridge, money to get the things you need and some wants at least, you bills paid. my biggest pleasure is my internet access. this is fine with me. it's a simple life.

Live a simple life for me to have a happy family, can eat 3 times a day, can buy clothes, to have my own house and a small savings. Some people says they only want a simple life but away from their way of living.

Well obviously an simple life would not be an exciting life. It might seem beneficial to live one, when you are overwhelmed by all of the hectic realities right from the real world. However, it does not really just look all that ideal. I think that the ideal life would be a few steps above a simple life but a few steps below the insanity. To me, a simple life would mean one where everything is as it should be, everything goes as planned, and everything works out all of the time. And to me, I'd rather jump off a bridge than to live that kind of life. While the insanity of life overwhelms me as much as the next person, it also works well in making life just far more interesting. But to mean, you live, and you have enough to live and not one thing more or less.

For me, the definition of simple life is a life when I have enough time to sit in my back veranda enjoy the scenery & doing crochet while listening to my favorite music, life is so simple when we can enjoy what we are doing and no presurre or deadline and I will be happier if I have unlimited stock of yarns. Sometime I feel like I want to live in small village and to be a farmer, it is nice to enjoy the fresh air every morning, no polution, no backstabbing in office. My simple life and simple happiness is when I can grow fruits and vegetables on my yard, making my own clothes or household equipment such as table, chair, etc. Well, my father just made me a bookshelf and Im so happy for it. so, my life is already simple.

Living a simple life depends on the level of convenience of a certain individual. For some, simple living is having to eat three meals a day, with a decent home, and earning enough for daily subsistence. For me, it's being able to enjoy what life has to offer without getting to squander your resources for things that are not worth buying or incurring expenses for. Though I love to see the world, visit exotic places and meet new people from across the globe, I am not one who will spend everything just to achieve that personal goal. Traveling to a foreign land at least once a year is enough and that would already mean the world for me. I don't have to go beyond what my finances can afford. You can remain simple and yet enjoy life to the fullest. Happiness is a state of mind or a state of well-being and if you work within your means, then you can achieve your dream the way you see it, not according to the standards of others.
