It is day 13 of my liquid diet, and to be truthful, I just feel like giving in and eating something delicious. I live right across the street from several places to eat and grocery stores, come on!! But I'm trying. I feel better since being on this liquid diet. I have more energy, I don't feel tired all the time. I feel "lighter", it is much easier for me to get around. My goal is to lose 50 pounds. I started on this diet 13 days ago, so I don't know how much I have lost because my scale is in my garage in a box somewhere. I know that I feel better in my clothes, and I feel better all around. I am supposed to stay on this liquid diet for 21 days, but we shall see. It is hard work not eating anything solid for awhile. Thank goodness for soup!!

Hello there! I'm actually planning to lose some weight as well. Do you really have sufficient energy to keep you going in the entire day? What did it feel during the first few days of liquid dieting? You've managed to stay on that diet for 13 days now so congratulations. :)

Thanks for the congratulations!! 16 days now, and going strong, but it is a challenge (feels more like 16 months). If you have never gone on a liquid diet, you should seek counsel from your medical doctor FIRST. I have been fasting on and off for years, so I'm used to it, and know what to expect. The first few days are the worst, especially for a person like me who LOVES to eat. I felt hungry, irritated, mad, angry, impatient, because I did not have any food to soothe things over for me like usual. Drinking a little bit of water every hour that you're awake is a good thing to do. I also drank juice and milk and coffee. Week 2 I added Campbell's soup. I also dissolve my regular daily vitamins in a 1/2 cup orange juice, or in water, and drink that. I have MORE energy on a liquid diet than when I eat. I feel "lighter" and therefore much more energetic.

May 17...I don't know how much weight I lost because my scale is in my garage somewhere in a box. I CAN tell you that after this fast, I ate a BIT, but then I started to eat a lot again, but not as much as I was eating before. Now, almost a month later, I'm back to my old bad eating habits.

hmmm liquid diet? I've never thought about that. I am also getting back into shape. My friends tell me to eat small portions in mulitple meals but I can't help it when I see delicious food looking back at me. I just want to eat everything and stuff myself. How is the Liquid diet going so far? I might want to try it.

What kind of liquids do you eat and drink? I guess it's all soups and the such? I may try this myself as I do want to lose a few lbs. I'm sure it's staying away from sodas but can you drink juices and milks?

I drink milk, coffee(!!!), soda, juice, water. I know people say don't drink soda, EVER(!), but the first few days on this liquid diet were ROUGH, I mean it is like fighting a very serious, NON-relenting WAR within myself...me VS myself. The sweet, bubbly taste of soda helped me make it through not being able to eat. So, basically what I'm doing is just DRINKING stuff. I started drinking soups this week, but prior to this week, it was all juice, coffee etc. You can drink juice, milk, whatever you would like. You can also get yourself some protein drinks from GNC or someplace like that. I have found the main thing is to not EAT, no chewing, because once I get started eating, I do NOT want to stop. Some people may not understand the not-wanting-to-stop part, but it is VERY real for me. I would rather eat NO cookies than 1 cookie, because if I eat ONE, then it is all downhill from there. I am trying to stick to this liquid diet for 21 days, and then do portion control from there, filling myself with good stuff like fruits and vegetables, but for NOW, NO EATING...and IT.IS.ROUGH. If you do choose to do a liquid diet, just know that it is probably going to be very hard and you may want to give up on the first day, but you can do it. As time goes on, it gets easier, but it is still hard, especially if you like to eat, like I do.

Yes, in a very short time one can see results while on a liquid diet, especially if you are watching your caloric intake. I have not been doing that, but I still see and feel results just the same.

Liquid diets are o.k for a short period of time to lose weight quick but I can't do them because I tried the Slim Fast drink once a few years back and it was horrible because I had to practically live on the toilet. Nowadays, I just try to eat plenty of vegetables and fruit and lean meats.

LOL about living on the toilet. I did SlimFast some years ago, and I became so addicted to it that if I did not drink it, I would get the shakes. Eating plenty of good fruits and vegetables and lean meats is always the way to go, but so much more easier said than done. I have had a love affair with food that would rival many good marriages, let me tell you. Giving up the "bad" food and replacing it with (the majority) "good" foods is great in theory, but hard to put into practice CONSISTENTLY. At least for me it is.

It works, but it is a challenge. I've been fasting on and off for many YEARS, so I know how my body reacts to going without food, and what to expect. If you have not gone on a liquid diet before, make sure you TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR. He/she can tell you the do's and don'ts and what to expect.

No, I'm not a teen. I'm a grown woman, the mother of a teen boy LOL, but I do understand what you are talking about. Playing sports is a good way to lose weight and stay in shape. I love to play basketball, but I don't play it a lot like I used to. I started on a workout plan yesterday. Hopefully I will stick to it so that I can see some results.

13 days is a good start! I'm impressed at your willpower. You're more than halfway to your goal! Do you have a plan for when the 21 days is over so that you don't immediately regain weight? That's the part I find the hardest - I really quickly slip back into bad habits.

Thanks for your encouraging words!! I read this response the other day, and it actually helped me stay on my diet over the weekend, because boy was I ever tempted!! I DO have a plan when the 21 days are up. I plan to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables instead of the junk that I usually eat, and I plan to eat 5 small meals a day instead of one large, continuous meal throughout the day. The summer is coming and I really want to have my body in shape.

did you get this diet from a doctor? It just sounds a little dangerous to me. diets that deprive you of certain things generally don't work. your best bet is to watch what you eat, count calories and exercise. (oh and drink LOTS of water!)

I am quite slim so I don't really need a diet. But the summer is around the corner, I still try to trim my body a bit to look better in my bikinis. LOL So I will get on the indoor bicycle twice a week to tone my body. You know for a slim person, it doesn't mean the tummy is flat....... According to your description, I think you are doing quite well. But I am quite concern if you are under the supervision by any doctor or trainer. Because there is only 21 days diet for the cycle, but your goal is to lose 50 pounds, which is quite a demanding figure. Anyhow, all the best!

My goal ISN'T to lose 50 lbs in 21 days, no, the 21 day diet is just to "kick-start" the weight loss. So far, so good. It is good that you are slim, because losing weight is a lot of work, a lot of frustration and irritation. I used to have an exercise bike, but I don't have it anymore. When I had it, I did not ride it daily like I should have. I had a treadmill too, but it was one of those manual ones that you had to make work by just walking on it, it didn't have a motor. I don't have that anymore either. They both would come in handy right now, that is for sure. Good luck with your bike riding to tone the body. I understand about being slim but not having a flat stomach. I know a couple of girls who are like that.

My body is skinny so that i really don't know how hard to have diet for loosing weight. Based on your sharing, i feel that it is very hard. Don't be too strict with your body, better you should eat solid food but not much is ok. Living with liquid diet for 21 days, i can't imagine of it. Instead of loosing 50 pounds in a month, you can do it in 2 months, i think. Anyway, i am happy to hear that you feel better and so good in clothes right now.

man good luck i've never heard of this liquid diet it seems to work, but i personally know that the best way to lose weight is to run everyday, i've helped a few of my friends and my sister this way and they lost i say from 50-100 pounds in a couple months

Yes, running is a great way to lose weight, but 50 to 100 pounds in a couple of months?? If a person has 100 pounds to lose, how can they run??
